yeah we scottish weren't all trained soliders just mainly farmers and villages. and we still kicked english ass. we were just so savage and brutal. also very smart. we wwould ambush and have traps and also fight in bogs and marches to the english in theire armour and on their horses would get stuck and weighed down so we could pick them off.
Wow. Ignorant, much?

no not really. just smart.

I've only recently downloaded it, Dimos. It went completely under my radar 'till last night.

Evidently not. Your statement shows a complete lack of knowledge regarding Anglo-Scottish history and conflicts. With the possible exception of the "Wars of Independence" the Scots have never fought as the plucky underdog of peasant-farmers rising up against the evil English war machine. The Scots have invaded England many a time - perhaps moreso than the reverse - and always when the bulk of England's armies were engaged either in civil strife or continental war. Furthermore the difference in army build-up was rarely that pronounced, and has (on several occasions) favoured the Scottish forces. If you don't believe me, I suggest you go forth and read up on the conflicts and battles in question, rather than leaping to obscene Gibsonian conclusions.

Justiciar: You're right in many statements, like the scotish invasions (even in the period of the mod, King Malcolm of Scotland invaded England to ''punish the earl of Northumbria'' and ''defend his rights'') . Actually english were more agressive thought. They now have made Scotland a filthy vassal, depriving the highlands people of their pride and national culture of bravery. Long live William, the Wallace!  :)

Actually have fun playing the mod!

You aren't going to drag me into another debate, are you? :P

Canmore didn't invade Northumbria to punish an Earl, and the only rights he may have been defending were the rights to plunder and take advantage of the ruin being wrought upon England by dynastic strife, revolt, and eventual war with Norway and most of France. If you're referring to the earlier invasion during Siward's tenure, that was even less justified. I'll concede that England was the more aggressive state throughout much of the middle ages, though; such is the want of large neighbours.

If you want to raise the Acts of Union and modern-day Nationalism, I'd suggest doing so in the Sage's Guild, or perhaps the OT forum.

Well, just calm down. I read recently in wikipedia that before the invasion of Duke william and his fellow normans he invaded the saxon estates of the earl of Northumbria... Actually that has nothing to do with nationalism, but I saw plenty of it (Especially aginst the ''frogs'' = french!) when I went to London before 1 and a half years...  :?

Just feel free to post. I do not believe we can sole anything that way... We just see the issue from different angles maybe...  :P

Am I being an arse? Sorry.

Aye, I didn't know which invasion you were referring to. I thought you meant the later one. Either way, there was nothing heroic or just about them. That said, Malcolm III did redeem himself later on, and I consider his children by St. Margaret the rightful claimants to the English throne.

It's London. What did you expect?

Don't worry, it annoys me too. Though I usually find that it's people from outside of the UK who refer to it thus. Or English nationalists. Or Scottish republicans.

But as you spotted, in the 11th century the two Kingships were wholely distinct.

Actually the poll will be removed tomorrow or in three days the most, since a new version of the mod will be released and availiable to the general public.

The poll's results will be shown to everyone and will be in the first post as well.

The new version will include: 1) New armours, 2) Probably bigger player party 3)An obsolete naval system 4)New scenes 5) Fixes and corrections 6)Much more fun stuff!
