I just can't seem to find a good shield with a lambda sign... What they don't sell them? Occasionally i see an athens shield but not spartan...

You need to keep going around visiting the different towns, it will eventually come up for sale. I've seen them in all shapes, from rusty to reinforced. Just need some patience, persistence and a bit of luck 

Also, it doesn't seem to matter which towns you go to, items seem to be allocated randomly. I've noticed that sellers get new items whenever a slot in their inventory opens up, so perhaps buying some gear may help your chances.
