Brown is everywhere!! Same on my overall vision of medieval times.

There is no right or wrong here as castles have been made of many different types of stone and brick and in many different colours. Some castles are extremely gray, some are brown, some are orange etc. I chose a lesser gray because that is what I felt suited the look I am trying to achieve.

I have a question.
Do installing the graphical enhancement mod affect other mods?

Thanks

yes, unless the mods have their own textures.
eg. Hundred Years War, Expanded Gameplay...

Will it work with other mods? Yes. However, if a mod uses custom textures (some do) they will be overwritten with the ones from this mod. No compatibility or gameplay issues though.

Looks great and can't wait for a release!

One suggestion I would like to make is that the stone texture use smaller stones. It helps to make them look more fitted to the structure. Other than that, looks fantastic.

Just posting to say I think it looks great so far.

Also, what lighting effects does M&B use in native? bloom, hdr, something else entirely?

This image looks unreal. Photoshopped? Or really an in-game screenshot?

Anyway, Great, Great textures! Good luck.

Unfortunately it's not the original screenshot. There's a stronger glow than in-game and the contrast is higher.

I'm not sure about that. I agree that on some walls the stone looks a little big (particularly the area), but generally I think it's a realistic size. Also, the textures are used for many different wall sizes (from castle walls to small shop walls) so the stone size is quite inconsistent, but something I can't do anything about without changing all of the building brfs to use more suitable stone textures. It's something I've thought about, and the only thing stopping me is it means that part of the mod (it would be an optional download) wouldn't be compatible with other mods, and that it would be a reasonably large download. However, in addition to choosing suitable stone sizes for specific structures, I'd also be able to use different stone textures. Currently I'm only using one texture to replace wall3 and stone_wall_2 (the main stone textures) as they are both used for every type of structure in the game. It would nice to be able to designate a texture specifically for castle walls, another for town houses, another for interiors etc.

I don't know much about lighting so don't know what it is called, but it would be a standard lighting. No modern effects such as bloom, HDR etc which obviously gives the game a bit of a flat feel to it. It's probably not as necessary in this game as it is in others since M&B is less about environment (when you're fighting it's among dozens to hundreds of others, and when you're not fighting the lighting doesn't really matter).

great job, you took an already great thing and made it better, which is more than some mods can say. the ground textures look perfect, can't wait for the completed version.

Hmm i have a few minor details why do you create better grass? its a bit waste of time some people may disagree but i suggest working on things that everyone sees first. For Example when i enter a town i see buildings.I am not trying to be mean or telling you off but its just a suggestion.

Grass is the most common texture in the game and more battles take place on and around it than any other texture. It's important to get a good grass texture, a good dirt texture and a good stone wall texture as most terrain and building textures can be replaced by just those three. The native walls are decent and the dirt is less common, but since the grass is everwhere and the texture isn't suitable (the grass they used is far too large and too light), it's probably the one that needs replacing the most.

Anyway, little to no work done lately as I've been getting into .95x. The most I've actually played M&B without modding at the same time.
