God plays no part in the circle of Life and Death, as God is a fictitious representation of a set of morals and laws that are outdated and, possibly, if interpreted the wrong way, harmful. It is for this reason, that I refuse to believe in a single, all-powerful, emotionless (or, by Old Testament standards, bloody angry) deity, although, I am able to acknowledge your need as a human being to "believe" in something of this nature, lest your concept of the workings of the spiritual world be shattered.
The Gods do not care for us - they are too busy fighting those of us who would damage the forests, mountains, and even the skies in which they live.
