1.143 or 1.153 Treason etc

Howdy, long term stalker first time poster (I think)

So here goes, I played my first real lengthy game. Mostly I get bored and restart but this time I went all in. I was at day 130 (I know its not 'that' long) in when I noticed Swadia were getting destroyed even thought I was winning victory after victory. Bascially the King of Swadia/the nords and the sultan lads indicted around 20 lords and they all joined the rodocks which made them uber powerful. Im guessing after looking elsewhere this is a bug so Im wondering is it only present in 1.153?(which i have)

If I downgrade to 1.143 and start over can I actually play a game where lords dont change hands daily? Seriously in my game Swadia only had praven left and the rodhocks have most of the map and the lords..I think swadia has around 5 now. If i press wait here for awhile lords get indicted almost every 3 days, its never been like that before 1.153 for me....

I'm playing 1.143, and it works fine here.  Although I still advise to use TweakMB and make relations drop from assigning fiefs to be in the range of from -2 to 2, instead of default -5 to 2.  Some lords will still defect, but your faction won't get into troubles because it won a war.  I haven't seen as many feasts too.  Much better, especially for Swadia.  ;-)

BTW - do you know that at least Diplomacy is pretty much mandatory for 1.143?  Otherwise you'll run into game breaking bugs.

Grand job, I'm downloading the latest Dip/Deployment mod and version 1.143, not too sure what ya mean about the relation drop thingy

Normally when a king assigns a fief plenty of lords get jealous.  Default range for change of relations with a faction leader is between -5 to 2, which means that if a faction wins a war and a king will assign all the land they conquered, they all will start hating on him.  Let's say they won about 10 centers, and on average every lord will get -2 relation for every center assigned to somebody else, then there is a very high chance that some will leave, with castles and cities which they hold and destroy the faction this way.

I played games both ways and I definitely prefer to have the relation change in the range of -2 to 2.  Much more stable, though I ended up with almost no lords in my own kingdom, as everybody is so happy with their king.

ok cool ill try that, where do i change the script? Also I read on the dip/psod forum that the lord spawn script was included...is that what you are talking about?

Also when I try to run the game from the launcher/shortcut I get an error. You are running an unsupported version of warband, WSE only supports 1.143... any idears?

ok disregard over version number, I was using a crack because my key wouldnt work. I figured id used it already on another computer years ago but as it turns out I never bought the game, was using the original mount and blade key...silly bugger

no takeaway for me tonight so....

SO, tweakMB, i gotta download that, where is the script that you were tlaking about in it?

i suggest play around with tweak M&B chances are u find other usefull options too ;)

like sell prisoners to tavern keeper or cow follow u. :)

nice one, sorted. I really like the dip mod/deploment. its like how the game was meant to be played. ace, im not gonna muck around with the tweaker. Just to stop the lords constantly changing kings...greta thanks again

TweakMB is easy to use, and once you have it, you will most probably play around with it.  It basically allows you to tune the game to your playstyle, and if something really annoys you, you can often fix it with one click.  Good stuff.

Fix the respawn behavior of defeated lords (necessary to revert versions 1.142+ back to 1.134 and earlier behavior)

This tweak worked very well for me, make back-up copy through. And i think you'll need new game for that, not quite sure.

oh yeah that's what id seen before but i think bakters nailed it on the head for me. played 100 days and one lord has been indicted for treason. though it feels 'right', their faction is crumbling so it would make sense to have the rot set in
