game keeps crashing

whenever i try to load my saved game, it keeps crashing. has anyone else experienced something like this and if so, how can i fix it. I don't want to have to restart my game all over again.

Could be a corrupted save, yes. Hopefully you have one from near then in the same campaign.

If this happens again, there will be a back up of your most recent save in your Documents\Mount&Blade With Fire and Sword Savegames\<Module Name>\ file called last_savegame_backup.sav
Just rename that to sgXX.sav (with XX from 00-08, depending on which slot you want it in) and you'll have recovered the last save.

thing is, the game also crashed when i started a new game and got to a certain point(can't remember what point, but wasn't far in)
