Do you mean Scorpion tank from Halo, which I am sure is after gunpowder, or an actual scorpion which would suck ASS as a weapon because it would always be pinching and stinging, and if you fell asleep with it in your back pocket, to pull out if a robber waylaid you in your sleep, it would likely crawl up your ass and have a gay scorpion fetish party.

Anyway, it's indeed a small ballista that shoots arrows rather than stones.

They started using scorpion after taking over Greek cities. So true, Romans made heavy use of it, too.

At least with an axe, or something akin to a bill, when you're all done soldiering, and you come home, your weapon can double as a tool.

I certainly hope no-one tries to mention using a sword to chop wood. That's just plain ignorance.

The spear has the same versatility in that sense though. Actually, it does a lot more, once you're done soldiering, you can use it as a tool to hunt fish or something. Then once you've got a lot of fish, you can take off the spearhead and use it as a pole for your tent, you damn barbarian.

And you can use the pole too, for personal entertainment, or for your wife's entertainment if you need to compensate.

Anyways I voted axe because of its sexyness, but I would always use a sword in any combat because I'm a ******** liar.
