castle, WOW, with the newly balanced faction units with greatly improved gear and proficiencies I'd like to see revamped sneaking into fiefs, I just attempted around 8 or 9 times (losing all of my funds in the process btw) to get into a castle with the damned pilgrim's gear and it's just not working, at least give us a mace and shield or SOMETHING..I mean wow.

If I could tell you how soiled my undergarments are right now. It's greatly easy to actually break lords out of prison with your own gear but seriously I can't emphasize enough on the vaseline required to deal with what's just happened.

Please give us new stealthy stealthy gear =(.

I concur with this. I've gotten those missions where I'm supposed to break such-and-such lord out of prison, but because I'm also hostile with the faction who owns that castle or town, I have to sneak in which puts me in pilgrim gear. I have basically had to abandon those missions because I find them impossible.

If I happen to get such a mission from a Lord and am not personally hostile to the other faction, however, those missions are pretty fun. :)

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Gather your army and take the castle by force, the lord gets freed, you get credit.

There's a tweak that lets you change that quite easily, but you have to manually edit your missions_templates file and use 4 item numbers that you want (and can wield).

I try not to divide by 0 too often.

Unfortunately, this assumes you have the military strength to pull that off.  I'm more than willing to bet he doesn't.  I know I've run into that problem God knows how many times.  My objective is usually to knock out one guard so I can steal his weapon and fight properly, but that doesn't work in every city or castle since some have particularly crappy layouts for sneaking in.

Good point about not having the army to do it. If its posted under the suggestion thread i bet this could get worked in.

Ironically I just did that very castle. You just have to pummel that first guard then run for the jail. Once in, free the King... then the hard part starts.

For me I had one Radiant Cross Plaguewarden on the walls who did not fight for / against me, so must be a bug. Once all the other guards were dead it finished properly though (I was there to bust 6 of my companions out, so I had quite a bit of support).

No I don't think you guys understand :(, first though you are right in guessing I DON'T have the military strength to take the castle.

I've got about 20 huscarls and a bunch of little axe boy Fierdsvains.

To elaborate I am getting roflpwned SNEAKING IN, I do just fine when it comes to giving that guard with the keys a hematoma on his forehead, the true problem is the very first part, the "disguise your self and sneak in" bit.

I manage to get caught every time regardless of time of day "not even sure that it affects it" and while I'm a fairly decent fighter soloing trained soldiers equipped in armor with a stick becomes quite problematic.

This is a cry for help, mod devs pls in the next update HALP US.

Sometimes those can be a bit of a pain. In my opinion the D'Shar ones are the worst because usually most of the guards have a bow and seeing as how you have no shield you have to dodge arrows while simultaneously trying to knock out the other guards (at least until you knock one out with a shield, then you have to try to stay alive while staring at the ground trying to grab that shield, but then the staff basically becomes useless so you have to try to pick up the guard's weapon).

As for being caught all the time, there are a couple factors influencing that. The army size is one factor and so is renown. Unfortunately, once your renown is high enough it's impossible to sneak in undetected.

I've got about 600 renown and it was indeed a D'shar fortress, thanks for the input.

WWell this is a native thing. Its been around forever. People have luck in great amounts sometimes and lesser on others. Guess thats the way the game works. Maybe a tweak in the future if its that big of a problem.
