Poll

Regarding factions, what would you prefer?

The peloponnesian league (sparta and allies), The delian league (athens and allies), thracians, scythians and illyrians. Tons of greek factions would make people a bit lost.
All greek factions, divided by their regional settlements, (eg. achaeans, boeotians, phocians etc) along with the other foreign ones. (more than 20 factions total)
The main ones, the foreign ones and just some of the mainland ones, so as to not get very confusing.

Woah, very nice mod.
The only thing I would disagree with is the repeated use of RTW textures, there might be some legal issues there. But other than that, everything looks excellent and well-made.

Looks great, but I guess you're not going for historical accuracy here.

Yep I'm not. I'll show you why. Here is the original looking spartans:

And here is what they look in the mod right now. When I made that spartan armor I was looking for a cross between Troy's and 300's dark colors, and make them look badasses. I think it turned out alright:

I've been sent some textures from contributors, but if there's anything exactly like the Rome Total War game it'll surely have to be discarded. Eventually I'll retexture everything myself.

Oh, alright then.
My only other critique would be that it seems that the body armours seem a little too "sucked in".

Yeah, I will get around to all the meshes again and correct vertices and rigging before the release.

But sucked in as in? You mean the mesh or texture? The abs part? I dont get it, sorry.

EDIT: I just read through my replies one more time and I wanted to say that I'm not going for historical accuracy, but only in regards of graphics (otherwise we'd have a couple simple cuirasses, some pylos (conic helmets) and not much else, anyway). But I'm doing my best to keep everything else as accurate as possible: units, names, item assignment, etc. The spartan army organization is also very close to the original. In all, the only part of the mod that I wish to remain accuracy-free if the graphic part, mainly for entertainment and aesthetical reasons. If anyone has any picture related to beautiful historical stuff, send it over and I'll be glad to implement it, and even switch item assignment if it'll contribute to the mod's accuracy without degrading entertainment.

Call it a "Graphically enhanced Historical Mod".

Thanks a lot for the compliments, I appreciate it. There's still a lot to be done, and despite the map and most meshes are finished, I'd still like to have some scenes, a solid script and more units/factions as well before the release. But I'm working 8-10hs a day on it - don't ask how I can still keep a job and a marriage though :lol: - so it might not take too long.

Good deal, man, will do. I'm finishing the map smoothing then I'll work on those meshes again, fix some vertices and the rigging, then I'll get to ya. You ever worked on map icon objs or scenes?
