As per year we are honored to invite you to the Grunewald battle celebration. As it was last year, we will begin with the Grand Tournament. After all, the middle ages were not only bloody wars and mysterious intrigues, but also beautiful traditions of many a honorable rivalizations. You as well may take the field and compete against the most battle hardened knights not only from Europe alone, but all the world!EVENTS WEBSITECHRONOLOGY:
Registration deadline: 15.07.2012
Tournament server opening: 21.07.2012 02:00 pm GMT +1
Tournament server closing: 21.07.2012 12:00 pm GMT+1
At first, we would like to invite everyone to the traditional jousting event. Teams (referred to as "banners") of two can participate, consisting of a knight and squire (both required).
To REGISTER a banner for this years tournament you will need to:- After choosing the members for the banner, the knight must register his team on the EVENTS WEBSITE [link] stating both of the participant's nicknames and optionally his heraldry
- Both the knight and the squire after registering must acknowledge their participation by visiting the GRUNWALD_2012 server and "using" (pressing "F") the registry book on the aforementioned host
IMPORTANT! Nicknames supplied on the website MUST be IDENTICAL as the ones you join the event server with - Once this operation is done, the banner is officially accepted and qualified to take part in the tournament. Teams that did not acknowledge their participation on the server will NOT be able to partake in the event
- During the registration the knight will receive a special password which he can use to edit his banner's profile on the website
- One week before the beginning of the tournament (15.07.2012) the registration server will become offline and further participation requests will be impossible. On the same day all banners lacking a squire or knight, with offensive names and other invalid input will be removed from the event list
- On the 18.07.2012 the tournament organization will proceed to assign the tourney ladder. The mechanic behind the event relies on player ID numbers so remember to always use the same CD-KEY when taking part in any tournament activities

- The tournament will be divided into two phases: the group phase and the trophy phase.
- During the first phase all jousts will be decided by the first victory, in the second by the first banner to score victories.
- The finals will be won by the first team to seize their third winning round.
- In the group phase, a victory grants 1 point, losing gives none. The points will be used to determin if they pass to the next phase.
- A round begins with a lance joust.
- In case of killing the opposing knight with a lance on horseback, a victory is declared.
- In case both the knights are killed or no deaths occurred the round is repeated.
- In case of breaking the lance, the squire is responsible for supplying the knight with a new one before he begins his next round.
- In case of a horse being struck down, the round is continued on foot until one of the knights is dead.
- In the event of a knight dieing in combat on foot, his squire must continue the fight.
- In case all opposing banner members died due to melee, a victory is declared
Another part of the event is the tournament on foot... or to be strictly speaking, two tournaments. A melee and ranged competition. Both of these tournaments last all day long and don't require registration.MELEE TOURNAMENT
- The fights unfold on the arena on a "free for all" basis. After entering the melee grounds don't expect and deal any mercy.
- For every defeated opponent the combatant will receive 1 point.
- Only defeated opponents count, wounding is not considered defeating.
- Weapons will be free to choose before entering the arena.
- Scores will be shown on the TOURNAMENT WEBSITE.
| RANGED TOURNAMENT
- On the shooting range the targets are not players. Breaking this rule will be met with SEVERE PUNISHMENT.
- All players are entitled to an unlimited amount of shots but only the first 10 count on the tournament range. There will be a training range where all shots don't count for exercise purposes.
- From the first 10 shots on the tournament range 3 of the best will be picked as the final score.
- Scores will be shown on the TOURNAMENT WEBSITE.

The winners of the disciplines will be rewarded and promoted during the battle which will take place the next day.
