Such as? I cant imagine spending more than 12 hours on any of the maps currently in the mod.

I made most of the maps currently in NW.

Yes some maps took more than 12 hours to finish especially the big maps like fort fleetwood and fully destructible maps like roxburgh and avignon.

Making something good takes time.Usually polishing a map takes longer than actually creating it.

We will not allow people to use custom props for copyright reasons as well as other performance related issues.

So yes, please stick to the original ones in the editor.

Hmm, even if those props are made by ourself and specially designed for best performance?

If youre aiming to make it a Commander Battle map, then yes. Otherwise no.

Only 12 hours for a map?  Sheesh, in my siege map I've taken probably three times that by now, and it's only been through one round of testing.  I'm hoping the 51st will be able to host it up for another bout tomorrow.

<3 you Rycon.  Except that you never replied to my private message to you in the 51st forums.  :<

I'll have to take that up with Vince, sadly .. he's abroad at the moment enjoying the sweet pleasures of France.

Try using the original ones for now mate, I'm sure that you can come up with something interesting!

Eh, no worries.  I'm not sure how much of the messages are relevant now, if any at all.

Are you two seriously blood brothers?

Well I would be fine with that, but the problem is that it would give you a special bonus, others do not have.
If you are seriously thinking about getting some of your specially designed props into the game, please PM me.

Custom props would be neat, but wouldn't they need to be included in the game like a mod?  Could the custom props be downloaded by clients automatically with the map and then remain in his/her prop library, or would players need to find an external source to download from first and play with the prop in a new module?

I'm not concerned about doing this for the contest.  I'm just curious as the limiting factor here seems to be it'd "give an unfair advantage" as opposed to being technically difficult.

As previously said by Olaf, if you think you have what it takes to create custom props which are on par with the ones we have in NW than simply give him a message and he'll see what he can do about it.

We will be choosing and implementing the best maps that are submitted throughout this contest. You can still create good maps as others have already shown with "just" the original ones in the editor.

I'll make a new version of the old Forest Palisade map, from a long long time ago. :>

I am Space Khergit, and above pyramids.

Hello,

I come here (now) with a question, with could be rather important. What if someone makes several maps (2 or more) witch are really good.. (Candidates for the top 3) will he/she actually be enable to win more than one of the "top 3" prices?

Example - Person 1 wins the 1st Price, with one of his maps, and the same person is candidate for the 2nd price. With his map.

I mean, for what i've seen so far, It could be possible. In what case it would be rather unfair to other people that spended quite some time, and actually started to learn mapping just for this. (Who would have had a chance).

Is there any rule or any thoughts behind such a situation?

Thanks
Gokiller

You are only entitled to win a single price but this doesn’t mean that your other submissions will go to waste.

If the other submissions meet our standards they will also be implemented in the DLC.
