When I'm fighting a couple of hundred Rhodok sergeants and sharpshooters, having my elite cavalry street fight while diluted by a bunch of peasants isn't helpful.I've started to assign villagers (male and female) to a different group, named it Rabble. That way I can either send these guys charging while I organize my troops or use them as a bit of a buffer in the face of heavy missiles.Just take the time to reassign them when you rescue some prisoners from a party. Not as good as having a proper field battle, but at least you have to mix your infantry with these buggers.

^I think he meant reassign them after rescuing them and then immediately disband them.
