No problem.
Also, a tiny suggestion. Make swords, axes and maces (Weapons that were usually used with shields) like bastard swords, with both one-handed and two-handed option. Or at least swords. I think all knights simple used both hands if they ditched the shield.

I kind of went the other way. I have removed all two handed swords and bastard swords. Using two hands for a small weapon is dangerous and impractical.

In the mean time, the recruitment script is almost done. It just needs a little bug fixing here and there. It fully supports summoning any fief any time (if available ofcause), you can summon all your fiefs at once, overlap, let some go earlier while other stays etc, having fiefs with different cultures summoned at the same time is not a problem either.

I also added a lot of OSP stuff. I found so many fitting items that I am going to throw another faction in the alpha release. I havn't decided if it should be Ireland or Wales yet. Pictures of English dudes:

The armors are nice indeed. Thanks for the support

Took a little screenshot of some extra info I added to the battle debrief, so you can keep track of how many men your diffrent fiefs have left when you have more than one fief summoned at a time.

You can always check in with a knight to see how things stand for him

What's up with the scale gauntlets?  :|

Also, if you ever handled a sword, you'd know you always put your free hand on the pommel if you're not using a shield. It's just so much easier to control your swings that way. Not to mention they gain a little extra force. First time I swinged my one-hander it was almost blunt. It wouldn't go through the target normally. With two hands, it cut it clean, even being nearly like a club and whippy as hell :P

I already removed the scale gauntless, but just after I took the picture.

I have never swung a real sword, the closest I have come is those lame latex swords, and I always felt more exposed when I used both hands, but that's probably because I suck. Anyway as far as I know there is no historical basis for 2 handed swords in the 12th century.

I'm not talking about 2-handers as much as using simple broad swords with both hands :) You can see an example here: http://www.oakeshott.org/home.html (I suck at researching images and linking them, but the site's homepage has an instance of what I mean)

Do you still have access to that dropbox-folder from E1200? I stored the banners in your folder. Are you still in need for English and Scottish banners? Or did you get them with 1200-pack?

I can see what you mean. However historical accuracy is not the only issue. Turning regular swords into bastard swords may also give some speed issues that will overpower the use of those swords as 2 handed, so you will actually have incentive to ditch the shield as soon as you're in the fray.

Thank you.

No, I do not have access. As I started my own project I figured me having full access to the E1200 source code would not be the best of ideas. About the banners, my problem did not get solved entirely by my banner permission. The Scottish banners were not of the standard of the other banners of the mod, plus I am going to put in historical lords (thank you CK), and while some of the banners will apply to them, I doubt I will have a historical banner for everyone. If you are interested in making some historical banners I will provide references. Your banners look great I'd be lucky to have you helping me. For England and Scotland it probably be around 25 banners total I am going to need.

Yes, excessive realism sadly has a tendancy to screw with game balance. Also, surprise! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,223884.msg5562827.html#msg5562827

Not when done well. Realism games done well become some of the best of their genres.

My pleasure, thanks for the praise. I'll give you a download link, as soon as I got the possibility to upload. And yes, I'd like to do the banners for England and Scottland if you have references. If you can, send me a PM.

Can you suggest a way that works with this game's mechanics to implement swords that work with both one and two hands, without making the two-handed option overpowered, then? It would be nice to have the option, at least. Usually, if your shield's handle breaks or it splinters, you'd want to bring your left hand to the pommel and focus on defending with your sword only.

It's not coming up with how its done that is hard. The way I'd go is to make a trigger that checks if the player has a shield or not, and then change the weapon based on it. But that requires time, and currently I am a one man team, except for banners which quapitty now have offered to help me with, thank you very much. All my time is devoted to the scripting of the recruitment where I have found a bug that annoys the living sh*t out of me because I have been unsuccessful in fixing it so far, I'll come around to it though. Also things like how to apply the script to the AI intelligently is giving me some troubles so I might have to postpone the alpha release 2-3 days, currently I'm planning on using all Sunday to work on the mod, so I am aiming for a release Monday.
