Noob Question
« on: June 13, 2012, 05:29:51 PM »
Hi!

I have a really stupid question to ask everyone here. I have just recently purchased Warband and I am REALLY enjoying it.

Anyway, Inside the game I'm still fairly low level but I've bought up an army of 50 troops. Most of them are recruits from different villages or Sarranid Veterans.

The problem is that no one wants to engage in combat. They start retreating before I can even get close.

The only people that I can engage are troops led by different vassals (but then I get obliterated).

Anyway, Can someone explain to me what I should do?

Thanks a bunch,

Sounds like your morale is quite low. You have take a too large an army for your level.

Several options-
1) Smaller party size, but more high level troops...or
2) Higher pathfinding skill so you can catch up to more people.

This could be true too
And who's the fool who wears the crown?

Go into your party screen. Can you tell us what your party morale is?
If not, you probably haven't been watching it. And if you can find it, and it's low, you had best increase it with a higher leadership, less troops, more food variety, and by winning more battles.

Also, throwing your troops against enemies of the same faction kills the morale of the guys who are fighting against their countrymen.

To continue with this. Pathfinding will help you move quicker (as given) but is agood idea to have a few points in it yourself as well as giving a few to a companion as you get a bonus in the skill depending on your levels. A smaller party size OR higher level troops will also increase your speed. Higher troops have greater athleticism than the lower ones which will allow you to move slightly quicker.

Other things you can do to speed up is to dump some of the garbage (if any) in your inventory, and always keep 6 horses in your inventory (not counting the one you are riding) as this will increase your party speed.

To the best of my knowledge it does not matter which horses.

It's Below Average. I had 1 piece of cheese to feed my troops. I should buy some more variety. :-/
Thanks for the advice!
