That's a bit harsh to say... if his theory is correct, it wouldn't be the first time a decoy was used. Though I don't believe it, if it were a decoy, they could simply take off his helmet and check who it is, his face wasn't damaged, only his chest cavity, which I'm sure they did take off his armor afterwards to be sure. Though Rhaegar wouldn't do this because he had no reason to think his army would lose. He outnumbered Robert's army, just most of his bannermen and soldiers defected to Robert's side after Robert killed him.

You know, one would think they'd check the corpse. He was the biggest enemy of Robert, so I think he wanted to make sure he's really dead instead of just slamming him dead and moving on as if Rhaegar was just a random footman.

wights are tapped into the evil equivalent of the greenseer's hivemind, so I suppose that Others are a kind of inverse version of greenseers themselves. Speculating further, the hard line Varamyr's warg teacher took on warging people being the vilest of all possible abominations probably comes from ancestral warging dogma. I'm thinking that Others just might have started out as a group of greenseers (maybe First Men?) who said '**** it' and decided to go full pig into human controlling.
On another note, being the idea that Jon will live on through Ghost: I figure that would just delay the curtain call for the character, since Haggon told Varamyr that a person's spirit and memory gradually fade.
