Its the highly competitive atmosphere this mod has, an individual player isn't worth much, but a big group of them in a Regiment is a force to be reckoned with, whether on a linebattle or public server.
This is the one game Iv played where public players get 'snapped up' straight away, the amount of annoying advertising on the servers is ridiculous, everybody is clawing at everybody else for more cannon fodder to throw at the enemy in a line battle.
Add in certain elitist people and sometimes even Regiments, everybody elses picks up on it, if the average nOOb who just wants to troll and be a dick to people joins a regiment often viewed as 'Elite', suddenly he looks down his nose at everyone else as well. And then he recruits another like-minded individual and the cycle repeats.
This isn't always the case, Iv found on the public battle and siege maps for every one idiot there are atleast 3 or 4 descent people that just want to have a laugh and a good match, sometimes teamwork gets introduced as well which is an added bonus.
Its not this particular DLC which stands out, its every community on the internet, and human nature in general :S
