im afraid that i am going to work on other projects and will not be able to map for this, however i will be following the mod closely!

Yeah, one of the main reasons for me switching focus was because there are a lot of other mods that have the same period in mind. And since the mod is set in a fictional time period, I don't know the date- but it will have similar weaponry to this mod's 1700s muskets and etc, however it will have uniforms similar to the early 1800s (Shakos and etc.).
Sounds nice, keep the melee system though, I love it.  :)

Trust me. I'm keeping the melee. It will still be the main use of force in this game. The Muskets will be really inaccurate.

And a note, another patch is ready for release, I will release it soon. I am uploading both the patch, and the full version (so people don't have to download 2 different files). The changelog is as follows:

  • Removed Rifles from France
  • The French Light infantry have a few points allocated to Firing
  • All horses have been given a slight health and speed boost
  • The Pikeman's Sabre has been made less fast, and it's damage has been decreased slightly
  • All Light Infantry have an option between Light Infantry Musket, or Light Infantry Musket with Bayonet. The Bayonet version has 2-3 points less accuracy, but has a bayonet (lol). The Light Infantry Bayonet is shorter and does less damage than the Regular Bayoneted Musket
  • The amount of ammunition a single thing of cartridges has been increased from 20 to 40
  • Flags can be used as an offensive weapon, but they only do ~1 blunt damage. The only purpose of this is to get the enemy out of your grill while holding your team's colours
  • Pistols have been given a very slight accuracy boost, as well as has been made a 1 shot kill (in most cases) weapon, however the pistol cartridges has been decreased from 5, to 3. This is to make it a Officer's close quarters weapon for initial charges only
  • All Cavalry have the option between ~4 horses. Each of these horses have the same stats, they are only different colors for a rider's personal preferance

As always, these will be tested publicly for feedback, and tweaks will be made if necessary.

Thanks, again. For those who are un-aware, Holland here is my spokesperson for when I am away.

Anyways, onto the mod:

Known Bugs:
  • Standard Bearers for some reason do not spawn with banners. It works for me in Singleplayer hosting, but for some reason didn't transfer to the server, will be fixed in the next patch
  • When reloading, your guy mysteriously freezes for a few seconds and can't do anything. This has only started happening recently, and is simply animation de-synchronization...what you see is how long it is supposed to take to reload, however the animation plays faster than the actual reload sequence
  • In Multiplayer, you must choose a different horse from the default or you won't spawn with a horse, this was just a derp on my part.

To Come In the Next Patch(es):
  • Spanish Pikemen will have a "Tercios" look, in other words, similar to a cuirass (breastplate the Cuirassiers wear), this is to help the mod's goal of making the factions a little more varied. Considering adding the Tercios look for Infantry as well (to be cool Musketeers, I guess)
  • Reload speed on all muskets will be increased, making reloads faster by a few seconds (accuracy is staying the same)
  • Rifles accuracy will be buffed
  • Cavalry default horse bug will be fixed, of course
  • Like what is being done to the Spanish, each faction will have a "Special" unit and/or variation. We are up for ideas for this, examples of what we are doing is the Tercios Pikemen/Riflemen for Spain; and the all important Partizani for Russia.
  • Grenades! Blast the jesus out of campers (Grenades will be a maximum of 1 per person, and the distance it can be thrown will be incredibly small)

In order to see how shot and shell holds with high player count, we are hosting a Linebattle this Wednesday @ 6:00 PM Central Time. If your regiment is interested, please reply with the amount of people you plan to bring. Teamspeak channels will be provided to those who need them. I won't make any huge ruleset yet, just stay in a linear formation. Regiments can go Line Infantry, Militia, Light Infantry, or Cavalry without asking permission- just keep everything as a formation and no crouching in line.

mod is promising, but i dont suggest you use historical factions, create some factions from your mind, as the maker of  upcoming mod : RISK said, make your own history!
maybe you can make fictional factions that give a "hint" to which faction they belong in reality! like how taleworlds did with vaegirs (russians) and rhodoks (italians) and sarranids (arab) khergits (tatars). ! you might see me on the server at some times although its high ping for me :? !

That's what I planned on doing for my next mod. What I haven't really said before is, this is my first M&B Mod (I made Nazi Zombie Mods/Maps for CoD5),  and therefore why "major" things are taking a while. I want to finish and flesh out this mod, and keep updating it, as to learn all I can about coding, that way when/if I make another mod, it's amazing on release (like L'Aigle).


Also, on the bright side, I am taking 3d Modeling and Texturing lessons, so perhaps I can make half decent uniforms soon  :lol:


Edit:

 I would like to make it apparent that the "United Provinces" is added in the mod as a faction, this was just to get the base scripted in. The Faction does not have uniforms or units, keep this in mind when Polling  8-)
