1H Axe. Pros: Bonus to shields, and it looks frigging awesome! Cons: Range, but the range difference is minimal when in the fray. Just take another step and plant it in their face.

Short range is crippling on horse back, lack of stab is annoying, while the sword stab is was weak, its was good enough to sun enemies trying to be S key heroes and then hit them again, now I buffed said stab, so its much mroe efficient.

The 1H Axe has a stab, allthough short.

I did also choose the 1h Axe. The ruby version, because 65pierce damage is really nice.
 I only got it recently so well lets see if its worth 3gems. On horse i found it to be very powerful, but maybe on foot something with high speed like 120+ would maybe be better. But against knights the pierce damage will be more important i guess.

Look it, you already created a thread for this. No reason you should be posting unrelated points. There are decent throwing weapons in game. They can be deadly depending on your power throw and proficiency with so said throwing weapon. I can count numbers of times that either I was dehorsed due to throwing units or being killed by them. They are effective in this game considering the unit stats are higher than that of other mods.

Considering bows can do more damage per shot by a huge margin, no, they arn't that effective in comparison. Especially since the mod makers decided to castrate jarids throwing spears and javelins by taking away their melee mode.

There were some issues with the AI weapon switching for these weapons, which is why the melee capacity was taken out  ... anyway, try out the Broadhead spears (especially the balanced ones).

I either take the 2 H sword or the 1 H axe *wish there was a 2h*. So my 2H choice is due to the face I fight mostly on foot. This bad-boy makes me one mean foot killing machine and not to mention its long enough with my high athletics late game to side step and cut horses down. The axe i take because i despise beating on a shield such as a legionnaire,. They wont give ground so with this axe and high PS it only takes a few love taps to open them up.

Saphire runed glaive is easily the most badass and my favorite, but Saphire 2-handed sword would be a very close second.

yeah i got that one. i read in the FAQ tho that apparently if you fight that unique Mountain raider with it the god takes it back. wtf. lol i obviously stayed the hell hell away and i am still enjoying my free bow lol

And how do I fight that guy? (I want to get that bow. By the way, is it a short bow, so that it might be used on horseback?)

1. Chance encounter. Although sometimes it will pop up by asking lords about rumors.
2. Yes, the Strange Runed Bow can be used on horseback.

I usually just derp up noldor rangers at the Noldor castle and put em in my town, and then i laugh in the face of 2000 fierdsvain besiegers

There is. It´s called Siege Crossbow and does 102 piercing damage. One of the first steps of equalizing men on the battlefield.
