Specific armor set question

Back in 2.3 i used to love the Heavy Mail and Plate heavy armor sets, but ever since 2.5 i cannot find it anywhere.

Is there some salesman or something i have to do to get one of these, or are they not in the game anymore ?

You must be my lucky charm, because right after i read your post, i joined a tournament in Reyvadin and after getting 1st place i got a set!

Actually that goddamn armor is all i get from tournaments, with a few dragon greaves inbetween, I swear i got like 30 reinforced versions in my current game

There's a difference between "high quality gear" and "nicely textured", y'know. The lords, at least, should have "high quality gear" regardless, if you want to make that argument.

It depends. After about lvl 30 and 1000+ renown, I get them every time for both 1st and 2nd places. I was actually hoping, there is something better later, since all my companions already have those.

That's currently the top item in the list and due to your level it is why you're limiting to it (if running on higher difficulty settings).  Considering I tried to populate the loot table with items you don't see often or are useful for companions, I am not sure what else would be better really.
