Event Concept: Sherwood Forest

Forward:

I know this is trite and events are disparraged by many, but I think this is an interesting little twist on how most things go so I thought I'd share.



Factions

Commoner- Village of Nottingham

Craftsman: Make tools and weapons for the commoners.
Serf: Gather resources for the commoners.

Objectives- stockpile 50 flour for the winter
                 stockpile 50 iron ore for tools
Outlaw- The Merry Men

Archer: Fight the good fight against the oppressive Sheriff and his men.

Objective- kill the sheriff and win the commoners over

Faction- Nottingham Castle

Sheriff (Lord): Don't die! You only live once, and you must collect taxes from the villagers as well as wheat sacks,
Footman: Patrol where the Sheriff tells you.
Engineer: Build what the Sheriff tells you.

Objective- get 100,000 gold in the treasury and stockpile 50 wheat sacks
                stockpile 50 iron ore for winter
                stockpile 50 wheat sacks for weapons

Maybe you should complicate the commoners and outlaws objectives.

Can the footmen collect for the sheriff or does he have to do it himself? I can imagine him getting turned into a pincushion the moment the outlaws see him.

This would work notably if you couldn't see nametags. More chances for outlaws to get the drop on the sheriff or his men and not necessarily with violence. Could work as well for RP as for a simple streamline mini game. Good idea

No; and he's in plate. He'll probably spend most of the time inside the keep, if not all of the time, ordering his men about and inspecting the prison and suchlike.

Due to the narrow scope of the map etc., it will be very easy to create excessive tree cover for people to hide in;

I want to give the outlaws freedom, so they feel a bit more chaotic and have to band together out of a desire to defeat their common foe; most of their time should be spent screwing up the Faction's economy whilst winning over the commoners. I'll think of ways to represent that in objectives.

As for commoners, I think even pulling in as much as I've written here will be tricky all things considered; besides, how many people are honestly going to go serf? (There will be crossbow class for them later that's unlocked, still thinking all that out)
