History:
Zangaro was established as a French colony in 1802, gaining its independence in 1961 but its early years were marred by political and social instability culminating in a bloody civil war.
Eventually the involved parties reconciled and the first democratic elections in the countries history were held in 1964.The extremely close race saw the Socialist Party of Zangro emerging as the clear victor with 65% of the votes in what was lauded by U.N. observers as a well run and impartial one.
Ethnic conflict precipitated by the assassination of then president Emanuel in 1965 plunged the country once more into a series of internal conflicts. Old differences resurfaced as the country divided along political, religious and cultural lines
After several years of fierce fighting with only sporadic ceasefires, a temporary peace was established as the Socialist Movement of Zangaro managed to gain control of the capital of Nouveau Ajaccio along two thirds of the country. With the so called "Ajaccio Agreement" the country was reunited into the Democratic Republic of Zangaro.
The small nation prospered during the brief period of peace which followed, until 1971, when the President Olivier Ouedraogo was ousted from power by military forces under the command of one Col. Joseph Ileka. After usurping the government, Ileka declared a state of emergency, assumed absolute power and declared himself the new ruler of Zangaro. In the months that followed he further consolidated his power by publicly executing political rivals, secessionists, coup plotters, and other threats to his rule.
His staunch stance against communism also earned him the temporary support of the United States government in the early 1980s(economical and military). Relations between the Western nations and Zangaro quickly soured however due to damaging reports of human rights abuse and aggressive behavior of the nation under Ileka's leadership.
An ill-advised attempt at agriculture revolution and industrialization in the late 1990s left the country without an adequate amount of food; mass starvation followed and more than ten thousand died.
A failed U.N. Intervention in 1998 as a result of these problems saw a large portion of Ileka's political opponents arrested and executed. Any dissenters amongst the civilian population were targeted as well and it is estimated that at least 40,000 civilians were murdered as a result.
Ileka nationalized foreign-owned firms and forced all European investors out of the country, claiming that the Western nations could no longer be trusted. In most cases management of these firms were given to close associates, political supporters or relatives; who in many cases mismanaged or outright stole company assets. The resulting economic slump proved devastating to the already strained economy of the nation.
Despite this resistance against Ileka and his authoritarian government has continued unabated since the beginning of his rule. The "Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Zangora or Pavlov's Fist," as they are popularly known represent the biggest threat to his power base. Heavily outnumbered and outgunned and without external support it is unlikely they will remain operational for much longer. Recent fighting between government and rebel forces have left many leading rebel leads dead or captured and have severely depleted the all ready wounded resistance movements.
Current efforts by European and American mediators to broker a ceasefire have thus far proved largely unsuccessful.

A rebel group which has fought the authoritarian government since the early 1970s. Officially they are referred to as the "Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Zangaro" (DFLZ). However, they are popularly known as "Pavlov's Fist" after the legendary Zangaran soldier turned rebel who founded and lead the group from its humble beginnings.
Consisting of untrained farmers, civilians, and ex-soldiers, the group faces heavy odds. The government loyal forces enjoy large advantages in training, numbers, and equipment.
Born from various political ideologies, the group represents the first and final resistance against President Ileka. Despite their differences they have nonetheless maintained a cohesiveness throughout the decades.
Even with mounting casualties, the dedicated partisans of Pavlov's Fist have stubbornly continued to resist against the authoritarian government.
Ileka has taken a hardline stance against all resistance and anyone even suspected of being a rebel is quickly captured, tortured, and executed.

I have sent you the report concerning ADR, "Alternative Dispute Resolution", nominally they claim to be a security and negation firm.
Officially we have been unable to conclusively prove that ADR has violated the laws of war and actively participated in offensive actions. However, off the record, we are certain that they are in fact unlawful combatants. Unfortunately the requirements we have for classifying them as a mercenary company are very strict...

Alternative Dispute Resolutions(ADR) a private military company (PMC) founded by former soldiers Hugo Sinclair, Sasha Vasiliev, Thomas Gibson and Jack Kerensky in 1991. (We were unable to find a verifiable information on these four individuals, whoever they are, they don't exist on paper before 1991.)
A multinational organization the group markets itself as the premier choice for military/strategic advice, military/security training, security services, VIP protection and conflict/dispute resolution.
Activities:
1992 - Angola, contract-->ADR helped to train and we believe it appears that they even fought on behalf of the Angolan government against UNITA.
1995 - Sierra Leone, ADR assisted the government along with EO in regaining control of diamond fields, ultimately forcing a negotiated peace.
1991 - to 1995 – Data from recent Russian Intelligence also suggests that they were active in former Yugoslavia during the "Yugoslavian Wars"

Biography: Volkmar Tornquist was born in the idyllic city of Umeå in the far north of Sweden in 1981. His parents Johan and Sarah had two other children and though the family was poor his childhood was a happy one. Whilst, by all accounts a bright student he showed little interest in higher education. Shortly, after completing his mandatory education at the age of 18, he left to pursue a career in the armed forces.
As a recruit Tornquist volunteered for the special services. Passing the grueling selection process, he was assigned to K 3 Karlsborg at the Fallskämsjägarskolan where he completed the twelve month training program required to graduate the school. Within the Swedish Armed Forces the program is considered to be one of the most physically and mentally demanding with a high dropout rate. Despite this assessments reports regarding his performance during this time were extremely positive and his instructors recommend his transfer to active duty as soon as possible.
In 2000 Volkmar was transferred to the FJS IK, or Fallskärmsjägarskolans Insatskompani, which consisted of contracted former FJS conscripts for international deployment. However, in early 2001, dissatisfied with a lack of actual combat, he allowed his contract with the Swedish Armed Forces to elapse and was honorably discharged.
Siting in a desire to truly test himself and his training he joined the French Foreign Legion later that same year. The FFL were more than happy to find yet another ex-special forces soldier willing to joing their service and Tornquist was offered the standard five year term of service with the Legion. After the completion of his basic training and with regards to his previous experience he was assigned to the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment (2e REP).
Volkmar participated in the US led Invasion of Afghanistan „Operation Enduring Freedom“ along with the rest of the Legion.
Between 2002 and 2003 the French Foreign Legion was deployed to the Côte d'Ivoire, during Operation Licorne. Though by now a veteran soldier, his service in Africa during this period introduced Tornquist to the bloody form of warfare practiced in the dark continent.
In 2006 with his five year contract with the FFL at an end, Volkmar found new employment with the Private Mercenary Company, Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR). Officially, along with most of the company he was involved in the rebuilding of post-invasion Iraq from 2006 until 2012.

Since the prisons were extremely full at the time, he was given the option to join an armed service. He opted for Army, and eventually became part of an Army. Became quite proficient in entries. One day however, he was shot. With a few...incident on his record, plus the wound he received a general discharge from the military. Eventually he entered a police academy, and served on a police force for a year before becoming part of the local SWAT entry team. That went well, but he was feeling uncomfortable arresting people he knew from his past. He retired, and is trying out being a mercenary...

Biography: Javier's father was a doctor in Colombia, during the period known as 'La Violencia'. Disillusioned with the government, he supported the Liberal Party, and later joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Javier grew up in a rebel camp in Putumayo, and joined the struggle at a young age. Javier was taught the basics of medical training, and gained invaluable experience in the field, both in medicine and guerrilla warfare. Gradually, as FARC shifted from a revolutionary group to an organized crime syndicate, Javier grew more and more disgusted with his comrades. The final straw came after the execution of several villagers, allegedly for supporting paramilitary groups opposed to FARC. Javier deserted and fled the region, but now hunted by both the government and his former compatriots, he was forced to leave the country entirely.
Despite attempts to settle down in neighboring countries as a doctor, he was soon forced back into violence. Javier completed several contracts for questionable security firms in Afghanistan and Iraq, finding that they cared little about his past deeds. Showing remarkable skill at counter insurgency, mainly due to his experience with guerrilla warfare, Javier earned considerable respect and reputation within the mercenary businesses. In 2011 he was contracted by the merc company, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and continued to operate in the Middle East.

Biography: Drako's parents immigrated to American when his was young, in 1979. He felt he had no purpose in life other than to learn, he had relatively no friends because he never learned the full English language until he was sixteen, and had no direction which led to him joining Marine Force Reconnaissance at age 20.
He has served multiple tours in the Middle East including Somalia and Iraq, received several purple hearts and a bronze star for gallantry under fire. Though the military gave him an honorable discharge, there was no place for him in civilian life, so he joined the ADR in 2012 to earn some green while doing what he does best.

Basic Physical Appearance: Average high and posture, short, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, a stubbly beard. While working, he uses his old Belgian uniform.
Advanced Physical Appearance: Has a small scar under his skin from a minor wound incurred in Afghanistan. Barely noticeable.
Personality: Rather offensive, but self-controlled and has diplomatic skills, useful as an armsdealer. Besides, his brains are not in his dick, but where they belong.
Specialization: Belgian ex-paratrooper, masters Japanese martial arts (Aikido, Kendo and Jujitsu) which gives him an advantage in hand to hand combat. Has good reflexes and aim when it comes to pistols and rifles as well, though automatic firing is not his thing. He has medium computer skills as well, but don’t see him as a hacker. Furthermore he has made good contacts in Africa in the past two years and he can get his hands on almost everything if he has the money.
Biography: Bart grew up in the city of Kortrijk as the son of rich company man. During the 90’s though, his dad went bankrupt and the family lived through poverty and hardships. Even though Bart was rather clever, he never finished his studies and as a young man, he went to the streets selling drugs to earn his family some money. In 2004, Barts only younger brother died due to an overdose. Police investigators soon found out about Barts business and he was emitted by his family. Luckily for him, he was never sentenced for his drugs past and he joined the military and succeeded his training as a Belgian paratrooper. In 2009 and 2010 he participated in various missions in Afghanistan. Though due to his lack of discipline and sometimes offensive behaviour, he was reassigned to a reinforcing groundtroops squad on a Belgian navy vessel to hunt for minor pirate groups on the West-African coast. Bart Dewael mysteriously disapeared in December 2010, not so far from the Congolese shores.
His disappearance was a short one though, as CIA informants spotted him barely a month later negotiating with some of Africa's major arms dealers. Bart has since been a wanted arms dealer in multiple African countries. The UN intervention forces also suspect he played a part in the Libyan revolution, but it is unclear wether he sold arms to the rebels, the loyalists or both.
He is widely known by government instances as man who is difficult to track. His last sighting was in Benin, it is likely that he will try to gain profit from the escalating conflict in Zangaro.
Sometimes as an independent mercenary, but most likely as an arms dealer, selling arms to whoever can pay them, or if he doesn’t have enough weapons available, to the highest bidder.
Establishing an agreement with the rebels could be very profitable. As most rebels are very dedicated, the conflict could last for a long, long time.

Biography: Ever since Jeff could talk he was talking about the military. His grandfather had served in World War Two in the Marine Corps fighting Japan, his Uncle's had all fought in Vietnam, and his Dad (the young one of the family)fought in the first Gulf War. In 2003, as soon as Jeff could enlist, he did. He excelled with rifle marksmanship during basic training, and after his first deployment he was sent to Sniper School at the rank of Lance Corporal. After pulling through in the top five of his class, jack was attached to various MEU's (Marine Expeditionary Units) throughout the conflict in Afghanistan. In 2008 at the battle of Garmsir, he was setting up an ambush point for an incoming patrol when an IED (improvised explosive device) was set off, peppering his body with shrapnel. During one night Operation Moshtarak, after nearly a week of no sleep (the first week was the worst) he had dozed off only to have a Al Queda sniper take a shot. The bullet was just a grazing wound and barely evaded vital arteries in his neck, but never caught the sniper.

Personality: Level headed, likes to make people laugh and feel happy. Calm soothing way.

Biography: Oscar always had a fascination with Movies and TV, as a kid he could never really get his eyes of the television. What he loved the most was the American cop shows and action movies. They were hard to come by, but one of his neighbors in the projects was American. So he had easy access via him.
It never really bothered him that he didn't know his father, or that his mother didn't know him either. He always found it a bit cute, and made a story about them himself. His father was an American police officer, just like Ponch from CHiPs. In fact, sometimes he even fantasied that Erik Estrada was his father, due to Oscar's and Estrada's skin tone being awfully familiar.
Oscar and his mother lived happily day after day, he never stopped loving American action movies or the police force. So when he graduated from Gymnasiet(High School) he got a job in Law enforcement.
After half a year or so as a trainee he found out that being a cop isn't so exciting, hell all they ever did was apprehend drunkards. Or helping old ladies with their cats and sometimes domestic disputes. They rarely or never went out to get the "real bad guys," Oscar wanted more action. So he decided to train and then apply into Piket, the Swedish equivalent to the American SWAT teams. When his trainee/apprentice status was finally uplifted after a year. He finally got into Piketen, it seemed that Oscar had a knack for calming suicide cases down.
So with some help from his Police Commissioner he got into a Piket unit as a negotiator, he's specifically trained to negotiate during hostile situations. They preferably try to negotiate out of conflicts rather then praying and spraying during confrontations. Most of the times they just escorted people. Sometimes they had a situation where they had to negotiate a armed robber into submission, but rarely.
Well Oscar finally got tired of that too, most of the time he would just sit back talking to the culprit while his unit forced themselves into a barricaded building. So he tried the next best thing to almost killing himself, he joined the army. Oscar being experienced and still very well trained got into the Marine Rangers with some ease, not without it's own challenges of course. After a year of rigorous training he finally got a dispatch order. He and the rest in his "collaboration unit" were sent to Afghanistan. Basically they gather information by collaborating with the locals or by interrogation.
After his deployment in Afghanistan he decided he wanted back into the police force. But now that he's more experienced and older he wanted to take it just a step higher. Because truly even if he wanted to he could never leave his sacred country which he loves and adores. He could never leave it to the "Bad guys" (I think i'll make that his catch phrase. "Bad Guys" :P)
So he got back into Piketen and also applied to NI (Nationella Insatstyrkan) the difference in Piketen and NI would be NI takes care of National Security issues as well. Oscar was there at the Suicide bomb attempt in Stockholm, granted he didn't do much but take orders and investigate and learn.
Sometime after the suicide bombing attack he was Contacted by ADR

Biography: Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to a drunkard father and abusive, crackhead mother, he grew up in the ghetto-est of ghettos, making ends meet by begging for food and money off the street. Later adopted by a rich military family in Vegas, he very quickly developed an interest for all things military and with the help of his new family and his past experiences living in such poor conditions, he was able to enlist for specialized training in the army. He had a lot of interest in the tactics behind fighting, aspiring to become a squad leader of some type, but although he had the theory, he lacked the practicality and his impulsive personality just would not fit a leader of anything. Regardless he received instruction in how to best fight in certain conditions, finding his talent resting with Urban and Jungle warfare. He also had an interest in explosives but never received formal, professional training in that field.
He was eventually deployed as a soldier in an American intervention in the Mexican Drug War, and has been in numerous small firefights as a result, but nothing major and against less-well equipped forces.
Now retired from a tour of duty in Mexico, in his selfless, humble attitude and with nothing better to do, he decided to embark and a trip to another place filled with strife, instability, war... where his talents may be used for the good of many people. Africa.

Personality: Can be very Impulsive when making decisions. Can also be extremely irritable if stressed out or tired, to a point of blind rage (his impulsiveness doesn't help much with it). However he is also very protective and supportive of friends in need and will go out of his way to help others. He is very humble and sees himself as a modest, average person although his abilities in certain areas may be well above average, or even below in some cases.
Specialization: Has a knack for explosives and demolitions of large areas, provided he can get his hands on explosives. Is also knowledgeable in the field of Urban and Jungle Warfare. Has been trained in the use of assault rifles, SMGs, and pistols, but his preferred weapon is an SMG.

Biography: Born in a housing estate Derry, Northern Ireland to a large Catholic family, Connor was brought up hating the British and the Ulster loyalists. But what also didn't help was his 13 year old best friend's untimely end from a rubber bullet to the face by a careless Scots Guard policing a riot. All this andthe constant influence from his older brother made him take up arms against his opressors and join the IRA. Times were rough but Connor survived through his wits, sharp tounge and constant guardianship from his older brother who served as an IRA hitman. His brother taught him the skills he needed to advance in the organisation and with his talent for electronics he was soon found a place making nail bombs, smuggling them past British Army checkpoints and planting them at specified locations. His brother also taught him the workings of firearms and on one time acted as his spotter when his brother was sent out on a sniper mission. Occupying a random house in the Bogside estate Derry, he watched as his brother expertly dropped two soldiers and a Leftenant before retreating into the maze of gardens and alotments behind the house. However all changed with his brothers eventual death at the hands of the UVF (Loyalist paramilitary organisation) in a random bar shooting in 1993. His grief forced him to leave and he moved to the Republic at the hope of settling down to a normal life, however he simply couldn't settle.
He joined the Irish Army Rangers in 1996 and served various UN peacekeeping missions in Liberia, East Timor and for a brief period, Chad. He left in 2010 and spent his time in Somalia working as a part time war-correspondant before hearing about the ADR.

Bio: Born in Atlantic Canada to a military family, she has lived most of her life with an interest in war and their tools.
She joined the Canadian Forces infantry at 18, and specialized in radio communications systems. Upon finishing training, she was sent to Afghanistan, and served multiple tours until 2007. Later that year, she decided to join up with ADR, and has been in Volkmar's squad since.
Other parts of her past are obscure, and she doesn't show any sign of divulging it.
Basic Physical Appearance: Tall for a woman. Build is slender, but lined with long muscles from hard work. She has brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin.
Advanced Physical Appearance: Her mouth is narrow, and her lips are pink. Her eyes are straight, and not slanted or almond. her pupils are level with her nose bridge. Nose is narrow, and slightly upwards curved. Eyebrows are thin, glossy, and arched. Her eye-lashes aren't very long. She keeps her medium length hair tied in a single tail tightly behind her head. Jaw is narrow, and ends in a round chin.
Personality: An unusually upbeat and talkative person, and a terrible tease. She will use her feminine charm to her advantage, and to hilarity. She loves to laugh, and she loves to hold her rifle just as much. She is not stupid however, and will keep a lid on it when necessary. She detests things like make-up and overly glamorous clothing, and tends to wear military surplus when not on duty. Seems to have a strong passion for maintaining her weapons, and is anomalously quiet and distant when doing so.
