Unable to get RtR
« on: April 29, 2012, 03:51:14 PM »
Hi there

im trying to start my own faction by earning some RtR
Im currently a vassal of the Vaegir faction.

So my thing is that every time i send my companion out for the mission to get RtR i get nothing ? i only got 3 RtR the first time where he was gone for 20-25 days or so.

but after the first time it gives nothing, are anyone else having this problem ? im playing 1.152 so im updated ?

Each of your companion can only give you 3 RTR once for a length of around 30 days, while doing so those who dislike the companion will complain and render you unable to use them to preach your claim.

Since you're already with Vaegirs, each time they declare peace with another faction you automatically gain 6 RTR.

Works the same once you have your own kingdom.

I'm thinking you might be rushing pal. I had a good 40 RTR just by doing mercenary work for a few months for each of the factions.

Be a vassal longer, each peace increases it as said before.
I hate forums that don't show a post count.

Each of your companions will get you 3 RtR, but only once.  Send them out one by one until you've sent them all.  You can recruit companions you have no intention of using and send them out as well, then cut them loose once they've returned.  As stated above, you will gain RtR as a vassal whenever your faction makes peace (even as a merc you can gain RtR).  You can also gain RtR by marrying (I don't remember how much, though).

If you are a vassal of a faction you gain rtr every time that faction makes peace with another faction. So stick around for a while ;)
Also mercenary is you being hired by a faction for a certain amount of time. The only gain you get from this is improved relations with lords (which you'll need when you start your own faction), some money and experience. You will not be rewarded with land and you will not gain right to rule.

okay i thought  that you would gain RtR doing mercenary work, so if i understanded this clear, you only get RtR by joining a faction and marrying a woman and your companion ?

Actually, you do gain RtR as a merc whenever the faction you're working for makes peace.  As a merc, the faction's enemies become your enemies, so you can get in some combat practice, as well.  Mostly, though, the marshal has you running a bunch of errands, generally scouting and gathering food (the dreaded cattle quest).

You have to be an independent to become a merc, though, so if you're already a vassal of a faction your best bet is to stay there; a low-level vassal does much the same things that a merc does.  It's good to do when you're leveling up, before you join a faction.

Ah I was sure I didn't get any rtr doing mercenary work when I started out, but that is indeed a long time ago so memory failed it seems :)
