Awful Fps? On 6870?

I only seem to get low fps on siege and conquest servers with lots of destructible buildings and players.

I seem to be getting the same. I'm getting low fps im thinking due to the particle effect system. No matter what my doing my fps seems low unless i look away for certain areas on the map. I'm on the following:

• AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2ghz Quad core
• 8gb DDR3 1600mhz RAM
• MSI AMD HD 6950 2gb Twin Frozr II

Yeah, i've tried that its not fixed anything. I've put my settings to low and its stayed the same. The fps continues to be low.

I think most of us tried almost everything we can think of and we are able to do, but nothing seems to have worked very well at all...

So there's no way to turn off parallax mapping?

I think it might be one of the reasons my framerate is so low.

What's your FPS limit? If you have FPS limit over 60 is useless, so limit your Fps to 60 or under. It may help, that worked for me.

I love the game but Im really dissapointed with the optimalisation. Both native and WFaS work well for me with everything set on high. NW in Dx9 mode, but everything set on low is unplayable on some of the maps when the FPS drops to 17-25. Of course, my PC is not some kind of monster, but I thought that the GF9800, 2 Gb RAM and 2,6 Ghz Dual Core could handle that game.

That is odd, as I'm running a 6870 and mine runs at highest settings with  60 FPS. That eliminates it being the card itself (unless yours is going out).

Try setting your resolution to your monitors native resolution. Also make sure "Load Textures on Demand" is checked.

2 gigs of RAM is very low, especially if you're running Vista or 7. The game will only run on 1 core as well, although you should still be fine in that aspect.

With your GPU, that's the one I upgraded from and I saw some performance issues with it as well. Try disabling particle effects and seeing how it goes. I know it also has a slower processor on it than many cards, so it has issues when it needs to load a ton of textures.

on my 7970, still lag D: even with the new update. I mainly play Commander Battle and its when I look down the map I lag

Yeah, Still lagging myself with my Ati5870. Less than 30fps on siege.

I think the problem with siege is that there's so much crap laying around over the course of the battles. Even after the earlier bodies dissapear the gun and little ammo packies are still where that player died until the end of the round. The particle effects don't help either.
