I'm no expert, but just by thinking about it critically, I'd say the bayonet SHOULD have higher damage than the sword logically. If a person thrusts a bayonet forward with both arms, that means extra force. Sabres and swords in the Napoleonic era were wielded with one hand, meaning only one arm, and therefore less thrust force.
Just my observation... I personally think bayonet damage is fine.

Anyway bayonet its doing pierce damege, sable more cut less pierce, rapier pierce less cut.
Cut demage is massive to unarmoured, decapitation, unarm, ripped in half.
Pirce demage will go better through armor and will make small hole. I saw poeple surviving stabs like this. Im ensure you sable, axe, katana all will do far more damage.
