As an Arty guard I have to agree with the bayonet argument going on. Sure it is a mega powerful weapon and in some cases you can understand why I/someone has killed me/someone els. But other times they will slightly nip my arm and my character will fall flat on his face dead..... I studied 19th century warfare and even worked in museums dedicated to it and all I can say is I never saw fighting tactic called spin around like a helicopter and stab a guy in the arm to kill him..... It just isn't how people used them back then. Sure a stab in the chest at mostly any speed will kill you or mortally wound you but the way people sometimes achieve this is stupid.... Also soldiers back then never thought for them selfs and would do exactly as taught and trained (wasn't until the end of the 19th century this was changed.) so the fact that they achieve these moves that make no sense to the period back then does annoy me a bit.

Secondly I think characters should have more customization like people have been asking for. Eg beard and cigar or with females jewelry and cigar :P And maybe we could have unlock-able customs.... nothing major that will make your character look mega just because you have no life... I'm talking scratched guns or slightly warn uniforms depending on how many battles or time you have been playing. Maybe even have custom parts or paint on your uniforms and guns for the different regiments to really signify who they are....

I'm no expert, but just by thinking about it critically, I'd say the bayonet SHOULD have higher damage than the sword logically. If a person thrusts a bayonet forward with both arms, that means extra force. Sabres and swords in the Napoleonic era were wielded with one hand, meaning only one arm, and therefore less thrust force.

Just my observation... I personally think bayonet damage is fine.

Imo, while I think the bayonet was deadlier, it definitely needs to be nerfed a little, but just a little...at least the overhead stab.

Sabre slashes are significantly less effective when faces with heavy woolen greatcoats, leather webbing etc.

Well your logic is wrong.
You never saw true cav saber in museum, dont you?
Anyway bayonet its doing pierce damege, sable more cut less pierce, rapier pierce less cut.
Cut demage is massive to unarmoured, decapitation, unarm, ripped in half.
Pirce demage will go better through armor and will make small hole. I saw poeple surviving stabs like this. Im ensure you sable, axe, katana all will do far more damage.
Your teoris about baynet become a star wars lightbayont are rubbish.

I disagree with nerfing the bayo (except making the overhead have less range, because realistically, one would be thrown massively off balance going as far as it does, so therefore an overhead would most likely be a short quick jab, yet still deadly as it is aimed in the head region) bu swords definitely need a buff, especially those for heavy cav, as it does not seem to compensate well for the lessened speed bonus due to the slower horses (the horses though are marvelous now)

Actually there would be very little, if any, decapitation and missing limbs from sabres. Swords aren't some magical cutting device. If they caused injuries, they could certainly be nasty, but I fail to see how a weapon that could be defeated by a woolen great coat(pretty standard issue) is going to be reliable removing limbs.

Please, stop getting your info (if it can be called as such) from Hollywood, it's just making you look silly. Swords do not magically remove limbs, or rip people in half. At most you will have a very deep laceration, resulting in blood loss, which in turn leads to shock, and then death. The notion that swords are any deadlier than a bayonet is ridiculous. Same result, different ways of going about it. If anything a bayonet wound is deadlier, as there is a higher likelihood of piercing vital organs, whereby a sword cut may only do superficial damage.

Can some of the bigger maps be trimmed down a little, that conquest one in that snowy part of Russia with seven spawn points in a wide circle just put me and my regiment off as it took forever to find somebody if you went on foot.

It would be cool if capturing enemy flags granted points like kills do.

Light dragoons need a buff, their peashooters are rather useless in Commander Battle.

On commander battle i would like it if bots would walk, when you walk... not just run, stop, run, stop...   to create a more realistic feel

and secondly if possible, when in commander battle mode, that the regiments you spawn with have a flagsmen, and two musicians... this would be pretty epic to have flags and music across the battlefields...
But maybe remove the bonuses they hold in that mode :\

Not sure if I suggested this before, but change the current pistol soap icon to an actual pistol icon.
