Bugs and known issues

Here is a special topic for bug reports on the Basic, Gameplay and Expanded version of 2.52, for Warband v1.143. Please specify in your post which version you used. Also, if your problem is at all related to a troop (equipment, appearance, etc) please indicate which troop tree you've selected.

Before you post, you'd better read the FAQ, because sometimes the errors you get can be solved by solutions posted over there. Furthermore, if you're having trouble/crashes, you can also ask for help at Support.

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Warband v1.15x: selecting "noble" in character creation results in a black screen. Workarounds: play on the intended 1.143 version, or don't choose a noble background until we get Floris patched to 1.15x

Are you using expanded or gameplay? Have you used any tweaks or changed the mod yourself? Could you please upload that savegame?

We're using expanded version of the mod. I think you don't need my savegame file, I can tell you how can you to produce this bug. The only buggy thing is the table in this transaction. On the city screen everything's all right. So you go in one of the Calradian cities, then enter the "Visit the landlords and moneylenders" menu. Buy 20 or 30 acres for the "buy and prepare uncultivated land" option, then sell it. Do it this four times, and check the financial report. Probably now the table show you negative tendency by the city names.

I Found a bug that occurs for me during enlistment that doesnt seem to have an effect but possibly might.

and also it seems quick battle is broken as well. Also the Arena uses native design on default (not sure if intended), the melee fights can only use native arenas, and the apply to all centers doesn't work as well. Sorry for all these at once. This is all as of 2.52 Expanded.

I think there is a bug with formation in 2.52, for some reason, some fights I start with my divisions all over the place, like in this pic, my infantry is behind the enemy, my archers are with me and my non combat group is almost on top of the enemy:

Can you confirm this bug with a new game as well? Or is this only happening with a savegame?

That one happened to me in Gameplay as well, but I was not enlisted. And to be precise: Had it in 2.5, not yet in 2.52. Everything is the same except that party ID changes whenever this occurs (every few weeks).

Can you confirm this bug with a new game as well? Or is this only happening with a savegame?

Happened with a savegame, didn't test on a new game yet but it also seems to have stopped happening when i removed all "move forward x paces" and "move backward x paces" orders from the starting setup.

Gameplay 2.52:
The items vae_bow_imperial & we_rho_sword_rondel still have no meshes.
Also the ingame reference displays an "invalid item" in the one handed weapons list. Not really sure what that's supposed to be exactly.
Nine of ten science frogs say any mistake in grammar and/or spelling in the above post is merely a figment of your imagination.

When you set a companion to auto-upgrade "Crossbow" they don't recognize Crossbows, Heavy Crossbows, Siege Crossbows, Arbalests. (Hunting and Light Crossbows upgrade properly and that's about it). Crossbows and higher get put back in the item pool.

Don't know if this is a bug, but I'll put it here anyways.

I have some strange AI behaviour to report whilst using Formations AI and NAtive AI with Formations:

I enlisted into the army of Conte Gerluchs as a Crossbowman, and somehow my commander seems to have missed some important lessons in tactics...

Whilst using Formations AI when fighting the sarranids, I observed him a few times to order the Crossbowmen to walk into the bulk of the enemy forces without protection by any infantry.
It looked as if they had been given the advance order..... In the meanwhile, the infantry stood on the hill doing nothing?
(Noobish question, but is it somehow possible that the AI mixed inf and archers? So that he wanted the inf to "walk" into the enemy and the archers to stand behind?)

After observing this "tactic" twice (and loosing both battles^^), I switched to Native AI with formations.
Here, our commander had the archers line up in front of the infantry and fire upon the enemy, but when the enemy cavalry charged, the infantry didn't respond. Some of them went into bracing position, but that's it...


Also, with both settings, I observed some other strange behaviour with the infantry. All men were constantly unequipping their shields, the equip them again, unequip, equip and so forth. Why would they do that, especially under enemy fire?

Anytime you request personal leave and then return to duty you gain 1 reputation with whomever you're serving. Reputation ramps up too quickly if you're going on leave often.

Also, the death cam is whacky, I rebound it to W A S D previously and it worked fine, now when I hit W (forward) it just puts me into an endless loop/flip.

This is because you can't unbound the four turn commands from aswd, and if you rebound anything to those keys, you have two simultaneous commands on each key.

I've been getting the same problem as ruskyandrei with a new game.  Usually retreating and redeploying solves the problem, I'll try to look for patterns next time I play.

Readable books are being placed into the item pool immediately after telling a companion to read one. Reference books are fine.

If there is a workaround for this please let me know, it's the difference between 30 intelligence and 27 intelligence, a big deal.
