MnB WFaS was based on vanilla Mount and Blade, not on Warband.
NW was a mod for Warband, which was then made an expansion for Warband.

Overall, I see nothing wrong with NW:
Sure, nobody likes having to pay for stuff, but there is nothing wrong with it, and nothing forces you to buy it.
Sure, nobody likes having their mods temporarily ruined because everything was heavily updated, but the update itself is still great.
Sure, nobody likes Vince, but really. Gather the last remains of your shattered dignity and keep a stiff Anglo-Saxon upper lip.

Let's not confuse criticizing TW and FSE for the way they handled the upgrades with talking gratuitous crap about NW, which is a very fine mod, and one of many gunpowder mods for Warband.

i agree with you on that it's a fun mod and gunpowder does make a big boom but its postponing the Vikingr event and i was looking foreword to kill people in Viking times

how about taking this discussion to a new thread and leaving this one for the event? so that people wondering on updates on the event dont have to go trough 10 pages of discussion of another topic

I was quite baffled to say the least when a friend directed me to this topic full of hate.

It seems to me you are blaming the unavailability of the WSE on me? :/
First of all, the engine is  from Taleworlds, they own the source code and they are the only ones to make any changes to it, if they create bugs, that is not my fault nor the fault of the FSE team.

You might argue due to the release of our DLC the engine got updated (Quite significantly) and that it is generating problems for mods, I’m very sorry to hear that and believe me that was never the intention of both TW as FSE, I always pressured them to remain compatible with existing mods, and even got TW so far to change the game key order just before release although Armagan insisted all the time of not wanting to do that for it would be “unnecessary”.

Though it was expected that WSE would not work with the new build, this is logical by the way WSE works, it hooks into memory addresses, which change almost instantly if you change just one bit of the engine source code.

In fact, we even invited the creator of WSE to our beta, well before announcement or release of our DLC in order to prepare him for the release of the new engine and possibly preparing to make WSE compatible with the newer builds.

Some might argue that the newer Warband engine brings nothing new to the plate and is merely a waste of time, and presents nothing new to what WSE brought, you are mistaken. Internally a _LOT_ has been done to make the engine overall better.
- Fixed a load of crashing bugs.
- Reduced the overall engine footprint by 30%
- Added a lot of new functionality

This new, more stable and more functional engine is available to all players and mods for Warband, for free! Actually, in a lot of cases, some mods that switched to WSE, don’t have to anymore, since the features they needed have been added to the engine!

I try to keep the community and cmpxchg8b up to date with new developments, possible patch releases and test builds, I think that helps modders and players a lot more then pushing a patch every week through steam without anyone knowing beforehand and see how many people complain about it.

I feel that I typed far too much off topic on this event topic but I would just like to clear this up.
If you really think Warband patches and WSE incompatibilities are some kind of scheme from me, then you are just being stupid.

Me and Eadric discussed Vincenzo's death the other night. He wanted to plant a seax with his name on it in Vincenzo's chest, while I found it far more ironical for him to die from a bayonet. Thoughts, boys?
I find you a very sad person.

Really, mate? I mean, I'm really rather jovial. It was a joke, spinning further on the general anti-Vincenzo propaganda. Nothing meant by it at all.

Imagine bunch of vikings come to a mead hall, but there is no mead. And not only mead - any other alcohol, because, as they are said some person is updating the carriage to move 30% faster, have 40% more pine, 30% more oak and generally be more reliable, which eventually caused the usual mead supply delay.
I'm rather sure none of those rugged men would care about better carriage, but think of ways of displaying inner parts of the person to blame to their misfortuned buddies.

There was clearly nothing meant by the discussions, it's just a lot of frustrated people venting at the mammoth problems plaguing their beloved mods, especially during a time when the first large event for an awful long time was scheduled to go down. People are human, impatient and rash and we really like somebody to blame. In this case everyone chose you. Better luck next time Pikachu.

It is true that this is leading nowhere and as Vincenzo is just the right one to put an end to this event thread I will close it down now, and hope that we can re-announce it under better circumstances one day.
