The Habsburg Dynasty WAS a major player in the Thirty Years War though, so he's accurate there. Mind you, Bohemia was only part of their Empire, rather than the totality of it like his post suggests. And I'm not sure whether they had much to do with the Deluge.

I think that the issue of a whole new faction can be avoided by adding in Mercenary Musketeer and Mercenary Pikeman respectively.

Personaly i think the factions that exist plus muscovy are enough, perhaps with the edition of perhaps austria which would brooden the view.

But I can not see how a lame thing as mercenairy units could substitute a faction.

Because mercenaries can be given Swedish equipment. Most of the clans are western european which means that most of the clans play sweden because of the similar equipment. If every faction had a mercenary class with swedish equipment more people could fall into line with the other factions.

Why can't sweden be unique? Must only the other factions be unique? I personaly think adding a nother western but still unique faction is the answer.

I am still waiting for my plate armor and an armet for reiters. Not to mention a two handed sword.
