Well that's a pretty bad way to start the conversation.

I agree, but I tend not to vote in presidential elections, so...meh.

He's basically a republican. I'm voting Ron Paul even if I'm a supporter of mixed-markets and universalist welfare states, because he's basically the only candidate running on a platform of changing the status quo and separating the parasitic businesses from the money-dependent politicians. You gotta set the bone before it can heal.

Unfortunately the Republican party leadership has the power to transfer votes from one person to another.
It's most likely that they will influence the course to promote the candidate who is more in line with party rhetoric.

Plan B is he runs as an independent, so that will hopefully steal votes from the really big stupid who does get nominated. Then Obama will win, he'll have a second term of protecting the incumbent establishment and we'll try to get Paul elected in 2016. I might move to Sweden by 2016, though.

Rumours about him becoming a possible choice for Romneys running mate and VP.

Since Romney has backings like the big money and Globalists, but Paul has youth support etc.

Dont count on this, just being honest, everyone on Paul`s side hates romney, as romney is just a republican liberal(might mean something different to you guys over seas)

Whilst he is a classic liberal peice of shit that couldn't summon the cahones to enact a Nationalised Healthcare Policy, it doesn;t give you the right to A) make a poor pun B)**** up my nations tongue even more!
A.) Obama is a Social Liberal. Every acceptable party in the US pretty much has to support classical liberalism--the left and the right is the US is divided in many ways by the line that distinguishes Social Liberalism.

In other news, it was announced last week that there is a link between conservatism and low IQ.
I know it was posted before, but I didn't get a chance to read it. Could someone dig up the link? /lazy

Probably only hae him because he, apart from Paul, would be the only one to probably give Obama a run for his seat if he was made a candidate.

I'm assuming this in in reference to this study published in Psychological Science (full text PDF...looks like it is free). Seems to have made its round in the blogosphere, etc...found the link to the actual study here on HuffPost.

Well, the news article isn't that good-mainly by using the media's definition of conservatism.

Conservatism, as in resistance to change, really isn't to blame here. Looking at the abstract and a quick scan of the study, the qualities connected to low IQ use "conservatism" as their means to an end.

Rumours about him becoming a possible choice for Romneys running mate and VP.

Paul has explicitly said if none of the candidates share his views on foreign policy, investigating the Fed, personal liberties and smaller government, then he wouldn't endorse them. If he loses the Republican candidacy, he won't endorse any of the other candidates, and might run as an independent, so why would he ever consider being Romney's running mate?

I'm entirely basing this on Ron Paul's honesty, which with politicians is pretty laughable, but I think he's really the last honest politician.
