Please note this mod requires Warband Version 1.143. No, you do not need to downgrade. You can simply use multiple installs. You can use your steam key (if it doesn't work, use this to convert your steam key into a usable one).

-When you choose the telescope as an artilleryman, you also spawn with a brass cannon sight. When holding this, point your reticule at something, and hold the DOWN arrow key until the cannon stops moving to dial in the range. Then use the UP arrow key until it stops moving to aim the cannon at that spot.

-There's now an animation for fixing bayonets.
-Fixed the 'chest bumping' when loading a carbine.
-You can now only reload while walking slowly. Walk slowly by holding down the left shift key. Revolvers are exempt from this due to the insanely long reload times.
-Fixed a rare bug where you'd heal yourself when reloading with a carbine while bleeding.
-Increased the rarity of a bug where you'll sometimes lose 2 cartridges when loading a carbine. I havn't been able to totally stomp it out yet.
-Redid admin chat because the old one mysteriously broke. Hit U to bring it up, type into the box that automagically pops up, and hit enter.

-You should now get better framerates with large amounts of players than you did last patch.

Why are the guns so accurate?A:
The American Civil War was fought mainly with rifles. These are different from smoothbores because they have rifling, which causes the bullet to spin and gives it greater accuracy. These new rifles paired with outdated Napoleonic military doctrine resulted in an obscene amount of casualties for both sides.Q:
How do I operate a cannon?A:
You're going to need a coordinated group for this. One person needs to grab the telescope, one person needs to grab the ramrod, and one needs to grab the lanyard.
- 1: Have everybody go up to the cannon and use it holding F. You should get some green text.
- 2: The one with the ramrod needs to go to the muzzle of the cannon and hold the down arrow key. This is sponging the cannon, and it is optional - but not doing this is dangerous.
- 3: Grab a shot from the ammunition chest of the nearby caisson.
- 4: If the shot's fuse can be cut, hold the down arrow. Move the slider to the desired time (1 = 1 TENTH of a second) and press Cut Fuse!
- 5: With the shot with the newly-cut fuse in hand, head to the muzzle of the cannon and hold the up arrow key to load it in.
- 6: Have the guy with the ramrod ram the shot down by going up to the muzzle and holding up.
- 7: Have the guy with the telescope aim with the arrow keys with the telescope equipped.
- 8: Once you've aimed, take out your brass cannon sight to fine tune the aiming. Hold down to dial in the range, and hold up to aim at the correct spot.
- 9: Have the lanyard guy hold the up button to fire the cannon!
- Hint: You cannot do any cannon actions while crouched.
- Hint: If you have the lanyard, you can check loading progress at any time by holding the down button.
- Hint: Coordinate everyone so they're doing their jobs at the same time to make the loading process go faster.

The smoothbores seem useless, what are they good for?A:
Smoothbores fire buck and ball shot - that's a .69 caliber ball and 2 pieces of buckshot. Each smoothbore is a mini-shotgun. They're also very good in a melee.
Multiple Installation Guide
1: Find where Warband is installed. If you're on steam, skip this step. If you're not, you know how to do this.
2: Download Warband version 1.143 from any of these 3 mirrors - they are all official Taleworlds links, do not worry about viruses.http://download.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1143.exehttp://download2.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1143.exeftp://anonymous:firstname.lastname@example.org/mb_warband_setup_1143.exe
3: Install the .exe. Steam users can skip the rest of this step. When it asks for an install path, make sure the path does not point to where Warband is currently installed.
4: You can rename the new folder anything you'd like. I'd recommend Secession just to keep track of what it is.
5: Download Secession version 0.45 and put the contents in the Modules folder of the second Warband you just installed.
6: Go into Secession's WSE folder. Select everything inside it, copy it (control + c), go to your Warband install (the new one), and paste it (control + p).
7: [Optional] Right click the WSELoader.exe you just pasted, click create shortcut, drag it to your desktop.
8: Download the .45 to .45a patch here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jhbzy6692a84v7l
9: Extract the files inside the archive into your Secession_v0.45 folder
10: Rename the Secession_v0.45 folder to Secession_v0.45a
11: Run the game through WSELoader.exe or the icon you just created.
