= Sultan + (name) + Syah
Example "Sultan Mahmud Syah"
2. Heir
= Raja + (name) + Syah
Example "Raja Ahmad Syah"
Historically, Persian can be considered as the most influential Muslims that affected the Malay, compared with Arabian, Indian and Chinese. They not only brought Islam to Malay people, but their culture also influenced Malay culture, especially in Western Nusantara. The Kings in Malay Sultanates styled with Persian title “Shah”, while several offices in Royal Court, such as Syahbandar (Harbour Master) were organized based on Persian style of Administration. Numerous loanwords of Persian Language can be found in medieval Malay language, while Persian texts and poems translated to Malay enriched the Nusantarian literatures collection. Arabic script was modified and added several consonants to adapt Malay words pronunciation that was inspired by Persian too that used the same method. Persian music and musical instruments, as well as clothing also influenced the Malay.
