I am using the beta NE for Warband. I know that is a no-no for reporting something in this thread, but perhaps you would like to know that there is an easily repeatable problem.

My companion lost strength stats and technically can't wear the armor he has on him. My Inventory is full and my armor slots are full. I remove his armor and can't put it back on, but the armor has nowhere to go. I can't delete it or leave the equip screen. The only option is an Alt+Tab close game window.

And let me say that this and all mods for this game are SOLID GOLD!

I'm presuming your companion was suffering from a long-term wound.

If such is the case, and your inventory is *completely* full, AND there's no other item you can swap that armor with, you are kinda stuck yeah. That's probably an engine limitation with no real way around. i.e., not possible to fix. HOWEVER, the good news is, with the upcoming beta release (.604b), Lav's companion overseer interface is included, which gives you a superior way of managing/equipping your companions, and due to the way it is configured, you could never get stuck in such a state. So stay tuned and I think you'll find that to be a great alternative.

Also, we DO encourage bug reporting for betas.

Well, even Overseer won't help if this situation arises in standard inventory window. :-)

Maybe right click would help - it usually drops the item back to the spot you took it from. Though if right click does prerequisite checks as well, then yeah, there's no way out of this.

Would you mind too much pointing at the sentence that gave you this idea?  Quite the contrary, we WANT to hear bug reports about the betas, otherwise the bugs won't get fixed!

5) Provide us a path with how to reproduce the bug. What exact steps can you take to make the bug happen?
6) What other mods do you have installed on top of NE?
7) Did you make any changes to NE?


And thanks for the feedback. (Yes, my companions are out of control running into the heat of battle because I just remapped my command keys)

What I do now is go to the skills screen before I move armor around, the other way is to pick up the desired armor and try it on the armor slot without removing the old armor. If it won't fit, nothing gets changed. If the overseer makes it easier to keep watch on companion stat-losses then that is very cool.

I'm not getting my lance and I really want it.  :mrgreen: Now I'm not sure if you can have all the gifts when you make +50 relationship with a kingdom (and be its vassal) but I already got an Ivory Bow. So naturally I decided to go for the other ones and went for Swadia for my lance.

No luck. Currently at +52 and nothing is happening. Is it because I was a mercenary until I had +48 and then joined as vassal. The +52 relation I made after helping a lord in a battle after I became a vassal.

Am I doing something wrong?

I've never actually looked at the code for receiving gifts, so I don't know... let's take a peek.


Ok, to receive a gift, you need to be a vassal of another kingdom, have 50 or more relation with the faction monarch and have free inventory space.  Once you've received a gift, a global variable is set indicating you've received a gift, and you can never again receive one.

Can this be changed then so you can receive only 1 gift per faction instead 1 gift overall? It gives you something to do and encourages you to try being with all different factions. Well at least me  :mrgreen:

And I want to report a severe bug which might very well be present in the original Warband as well. This is how it happens:

- I siege a castle. Fight the enemy inside. Then I have to fight the ones in the citadel. Just a bunch but there are times when I'm only on 2-3 health so naturally I get knocked out. And the enemy in the citadel wins the battle.

And from then on I'm stuck. I can't TAB out. The menu pops up and says - you sure you want to retreat or quit or whatever. I click YES and nothing happens. I just remain in the room looking at the defenders and that's it. I also waited a good minute or two to see if the game won't automatically transfer me to some other screen but no.

Only way to solve the situation is Alt+F4.

This will be fixed in .604b.

What's an example castle where this happens?

It's not a specific place. In Balla's case it was a city, in mine it was a castle. Ughm.. the one near Reyvaldin that's located up a mountain and between trees  :mrgreen: I'll edit this later if I remember.

Edit: Sorry my bad. It's actually Asugan Castle.

Patrol-creation bug :

Fighting the Sarranids, I noticed that their patrols were literally swarming all over the place, maybe twenty or thirty of them between Ahmerrad and Barriye. I had to fight each one separately, since Sarranid patrols don't 'goup up' against the Player.
The only explanation I see is that the Sarranid produced new patrols continuously, never checking if it was necessary.

Some elements of context :
- My armies took Ahmerrad, but I left it 'unassigned'.
- Ahmerrad's satellite castles remained Sarranid.

Second bug I reported in the old Bug thread :

- Desert Bandits and Taiga Bandits don't group up against the Player
- Sarranid patrols don't group up against the Player.
