Hello,

as far as the killing lords idea goes, how about you only get the option to kill them if you manage to capture them, i dont think there should be a huge penalty because then hardly anyone would kill a lord. but maybe you could make the capture rate lower, and then to answer the problem of having all the lords killed off, you could make it that every 100 or 200 days the kings hire new lords to replace the dead ones, so effectively killing lords makes that faction weaker for 100 - 200 days.

This would be nice if say you are at war with a faction for 100 days, and you're doing well, the lords would be mostly dead by the end of your campaign.

Just an idea.

I like it as an idea, but then you'd need an infinite amount of lords for the kings to hire, which in all honest would be a pain to do. But as I said I like the idea

Not really because back in the day have a Robert III wasn't that uncommon so you could get by with only 3 sets of lords per faction, just assume that they don't use the number as an everyday title.
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.... and keep your frenemies as well-paid lackeys so that they're within easy reach for execution when they inevitably turn on you.

We're talking Mount & Blade, to my knowledge there isn't a single person or persons who share the same name

But for killing off lords and getting new ones... It could work.

There is a script in the exchange that replaces a lord if one is killed, it randomizes stats, renown, names, etc... Basically its the son to the lord that was killed, kind of similar stats but randomized a bit. I've been kind of reconstructing this code to hook it in with the extended prisoner chat, thing is you have to create a crap load of names in strings...but the cool thing is its culture specific.  That way if you kill a sarranid lord it won't be replaced with a swadian name etc...

What if you kill a Swadian lord which became a lord in the kingdom of Nords? Will the son be a Nord or a Swadian? XP

Heh, good question...the code looks at what faction he is currently with when he's killed.  I'll look into that though, maybe establish it to where it looks for the original faction instead which would make more sense.

It would be interesting if there was a "commander" system, if the lord is killed then a commander, one of the lords friends or relatives, takes over the army, they would be weaker then the lord but still able to do most of the same things, and in spirit of Freelancer if you eventually get a high enough relationship with that lord then you become the commander. Furthermore you can make friends with individual soldiers, they work like NPC heroes but are killable and have standardized equipment. Also random lords have their sons in their party, and if you kill/capture the son then you get -50 relationship with that lord, vis versa if you kill/capture the lord.
Anyway, when is the release date?
I spit on thou from mine horse, and shoot you with a rusty bolt, I eat Swadian Knights for breakfast, Khergit Horse Archers for lunch and bandits for supper. All with a fine side of Velucian wine, which I find helps wash down those knights morning stars. I am a Rhodok and I will not be suppressed!

I have one request. Signing on with the Castle garrison as opposed to the lord who owns the Castle, it may give a feeling of having somethingother than your lord to fight for.

EDIT: I am very excited for this as I love Freelancer as it is in Warband right now, so a update will be even better.

You can make kings to have family. I mean their children to be king's vassals.
Also you can make the lords to be killed. Or when you capture a lord you can go to his family and hijack them for money or something else..
