16 German States merged into one. Forming the Confederation of the Rhine. With this, the great general and emperor Napoleon Bonaparte became even stronger then he already was. It ended up having 39 of the in total 43 German states. Only Prussia, Austria, Danish Holstein and Pomerania stayed out of the confederation.
The member states were Bavaria, Baden, Würzburg, Württemberg, Saxony and the five saxon duchies Saxe-Coburg, Saxe-Gotha, Saxe-Hildburghausen, Saxe-Meiningen and Saxe-Weimar, Hesse-Darmstadt, Berg, Westphalia, Regensburg, Arenberg, Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, Salm, Oldenburg, Nassau, Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Lippe-Detmold, Lichtenstein, Isenburg-Birstein, Anhalt-Bernburg, Anhalt-Dessau and Anhalt-Kothen, Schaumburg-Lippe, Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, Reuss-Ebersdorf, Reuss-Griez, Reuss-Lobenstein, Reuss-Schleiz, and Waldeck.
