Hey guys, just a question.

Will there be welsh regiments, (particularly welsh fusiliers) and will some of the old fashioned nobility have a suit of armor visible in the game? :P

Thanks.

Ingoldsby's regt. of Foote are in and they later became the Welch Regt. of Fusiliers (1713).

Some generals may wear an older style cuirass but the use of armour was falling out of favor given it could not defend very well against musket and shrapnel at close range.

Yes I know that armor was more than obsolete at the time, but that's the impressive thing, how nobles kept the fashion of having one, which is even seen in the first post. But yeah, really have no knowledge of how often they wore one. Probably on very special parades or just for portraits, last one with armor dating all the way up to 1730, although I'm not entirely sure who was the person wearing it.

So yeah, I actually doubt we'll be seeing officers commanding armies in plate or wearing it on the streets, but who knows, that's why I asked the question :P

But hey, after seeing how detailed the mod is, I wouldn't be surprised if there was one in some special shop or on some noble's wall. :P

Brilliant mod.
For Poland-Lithuania faction please use this flag with the Saxon Wettins shield and the White Eagle Order:

I noticed that usually it is misplaced by the Royal banner of the Vasa kings since the 17th century. As the one in your signatures.;)
If you will need any other help with European vexillology of the era please feel free to contact me. I will be happy to cooperate.

You will see it on a few lords. It was a 17th century holdover for a few officers. In debating whether or not to include it CR and I studied some of the contemporary battle paintings and found a few staff officers wearing plate. But it would not have been worn by many. It will be in the mod but will not be worn by a majority of officers. In Poland the Husaria were still relevant although past their great age so they will have it in the mod. Lobster helmets were still being used by Imperial Cavalry and some other eastern nations so it will be there. There is still a little bit of the 17th century holding on  and we'll have it in.

Glad you're pleased.

Completely off-topic but kinda related to what we've all gone through in the past two months at Taleworlds:

So I get home yesterday after a long day at work and it's in the stressful end of the fiscal year period here and I am happy to get back into my Napoleon Total War campaign cause I am almost finished the damn thing and I can smell and taste victory. Fire up Steam. Get this weird message..."Napoleon Total War has finished downloading." Well that's bloody odd. Nevermind let's just fire up the old game. Won't start. Try again. Won't start. Try the Darthmod launcher. Launches and then crashes. Reboot. Launches and crashes. Delete Darthmod. Verify game cache and relaunch. Works but now my campaign is corrupted and won't launch. Words are uttered from my lips I will not repeat here. I re-start the bloody campaign. Log on to Total War Center this morning and get my answer: CA dropped a new DLC yesterday and for it to work they dropped a new patch which obliterated tons of mods. I had to chuckle at that one. Oh well...

The saddest thing about this is the DLC units aren't new, they are just old pre-order special bonus DLC all smacked together into one cheap sad little package. Turn up at their Modders conference in July and watch them squirm ;).

Ok let's get back on topic. I don't want to turn this into a NTW discussion. I only mentioned it this morning because of the trouble I had and the first thing I did was head over to Darthmod this morning to read Darth realizing that his units file is what is causing the crashes and he now has to scramble to make his files compatible with the new patch and I thought "now where have I heard this one before?" But that was all. Let's get back to the early 18th century now.  :D
