No, that's Caba'drin.  :D

I did notice that the rgl log lists use_secure_connection = 0

which means you didn't try the first thing that was suggested. I would try changing that first before messing with anything else.

In win 7, it's in \Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\

In XP, I would search for it. Make sure you are editing rgl_config.txt, and not rgl_log.txt (the log is in the main m&b directory, the config is in the documents folder).

I am perfectly willing to change my mind on pretty much anything. But I require convincing arguments for that and I haven't seen any in this discussion yet.
I didn't even bother reading any further than that.

1) Go here: C:\Users\Name\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband
2) Open up : rgl_config.txt
3) Find: "use_secure_connection = 1"
4) Change it to: "use_secure_connection = 0"
Save and close.. problem solved.
And guess what, it was still the same old song of "unable to connect to server"

Next, I would spend some time poring over firewalls and antivirus software looking for program blocks. What antivirus do you use?

Lots of history of that AV blocking warband and other games. I would look on their forums (good luck) or get another antivirus. MS Security Essentials is good (and free). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

Avast is a pretty much pain in the ass, but I don't think it would block the internet connection of the game...

Wait, you can play Singleplayer, right?

Then I don't think it blocks.
But you should try anyways.

It definitely blocks programs. If you look at their forums, this issue has been unanswered for almost ten years. I bet real money this is the reason you're getting the unable to connect error.

So, what can I do to unblock it?
I also just noticed that my Avast will expire in 2 days.

http://forum.avast.com/

Search for block

You will see plenty of unanswered forum threads about this. Most refer to the behavior shield blocking programs it shouldn't.

I don't use Avast, so I can't answer beyond that.

I have pretty much the same problem, exept it tells me "Unable to connect to server" every time I try to connect to anything. I noticed that it drops after "Checking serial number". I got my game through steam, can that be the problem?

Oh, also, I tried re-installing, regediting the serial number, etc etc. It accepts my serial number when it asks for it, the only problem that I have is that it just won't connect to any of the servers with any of the modules that I have installed.

Preeeetty much this:
http://puu.sh/kZbV

No specific error message, nothing exeptional pops up in the console. I tried the "use_secure_connection = 0"  stuff too, no change.
