No, the Infernal Straits is the body of water spanning SE portion of my Isle, riddled with a series of active volcanoes.
The canal (for the Ashborne at least) was called the Hadagger Canal, in honor of the general who lead the conquest. (I wrote it in the wikki, but never really developed it any furthure than name.
gaham1:
How the hell is it a canal? Its natural. I like River between sense and catapults.
Grimmend:
And your free to call it that, it's not like everyone has to call everything the same thing.

In Cassih mythology, the two main deities are impossible vast and incomprehensible to mortal minds, but their interests are specified and Oros is stated to be the obviously better choice. Interestingly, there are many other spirits that also take the title of god that are acknowledged by Cassihians, and they actually classify other countries’ faiths as entities within their own mythos. Each side has no strict hierarchy, and the various titles (god, godling, power, grand spirit) are all interchangeable among the adopted gods. Oros and Tsal still maintain their own sovereignty and are stated to be above all titles. Notably, the adopted gods are not explicitly stated to be servants of the two, but are simply reinterpreted and told from a Cassihian perspective. There are in addition many ‘spirits’, with the titles of not mortals but not gods, who are often referenced.
A list of both adopted and native Cassihian major gods follows:
Lashuls the Walker. A native god who is said to wander the earth. Representing the travelers and pilgrims, it is stated he can be seen with his brown wandering robes and broad hat, and that one who invites him in for rest and food will be rewarded, but those who would attempt to rob or waylay him receive a curse that will cause them to lose their own homes and forever be hunted and vagabonds on the earth. He is stated to be allied with Oros.
Srarin the Lightbearer. A Cassihian rendition of The Great Flame. The Lightbearer is a somewhat impersonal entity, but one that is dedicated to justice and proper reward. He is generally considered allied Oros. While there are no official artistic depictions, he is described as an Ashborne with both eyes made of fire, carrying with him a bowl full of fire and another of water. The aspects of truth and justice are emphasized, and he is often referred to as a peacekeeper.
Nheshei the Murderer. Borrowed from classical Siruz Mythology, her form is said to be that of a monster with bent teeth and a single broken eye. Said to be allied with the forces of Tsal, she is the epitome of the jealous rage that fuels murder. Her symbol, the broken eye, is considered one of the worst curses one can use, since she is said to be unable to be mastered, and if invoked will kill all she can, caring not who they are.
Agarahk the Thirst. Coming from old Kesatolian Mythology, their main god Agarahk was previously associated with war, but in the Cassihian telling is called the Thirst, and associated with a primal desire for survival and the fulfillment of bodily needs. He is usually said to be a servant of Tsal, and is pictured as a Kekt with a spear in each hand.
Shora Ber the Past. Called one of Tsal’s greatest tools, the name bears some resemblance to the Berish priesthood, but is not a direct copy of any known gods. It is described as a human with blind eyes covering its body, and is said to blind those who swear allegiance to it in exchange for knowledge of things long past, but these things are always designed to provide the gifted with despair and misery.
Nesehric the Keeper. Oros’ patron of writing, said to have delivered writing to Cassih after the revelation within the dream. Depicted as a line of writing, with no pictures or physical description, and said to know everything that anyone writes down, therefore common methods of praying to it involve simply writing.
Grimmend:
Hey, not sure if you have heard of the game Cult:Awakening of the Old Ones, but I recently donated to the project on Kickstarter. Now the the Kickstarter campaign is finished, I donated to the level in which I can add a civilisation of my own into the game, and was hoping for permission to post a link to the wiki pages of the Empire of Ash. I know things have slowed down considerably here, but I still would like your approval before I divulge any content that was forged on this thread...
I also, in turn, hope to read other donors' civ ideas in the chance that they may inspire me with new ideas to further my work in the Empire's lore.
