I wanted to note a point that caused a lot of confusion amongst new players since this was up.

The three most common questions in global ooc are either "How can I make money" Or, after those people got told to "seek jobs" and watch the joblist, "Is an admin here, I need a job". After that comes "I'm a XXX, what do I do now?"

Besides the money admins put in game, the only source of money is the few gold coins you receive every 15 minutes. The amount depends on your character's job and varies from 5 denars (peasants) up to 25 denars (Lords). There is no "farming mechanics" to produce goods over and over in order to maintain wealth, like mining or crafting in Persistent world for example.

The only items that can be actually produced (Fish, Cabbage, Wheat, Bread, Iron, Iron Bars) only produce mediocre profits, and although they are most useful and there's always a market for them, there is way more money in imaginary goods and services to make.

So, what you really need to do in order to get money, is somehow impress other players so much they are willing to share some of their hard earned money per 15 with you, for whatever you do. (I played a street hooker for months in order to make enough money to play the Lady, for example.)

Your character's job and the money you earn are hardly related to each other in common professions, as it does not raise over 10 per 15 for civilians. So, if you haven't got way too much time to wait for your dole to spawn, You should get an idea of what people (with money) could want for that. Imagination and being creative is the key here, everyone has unsatisfied needs he is more or less aware of, and where people can earn a lot of money if they simply interact with their environment (I had a guy noticing my Lady Character likes honey. He started to deliver that, and by now he is probably one of the richer peasants around).

One can as well always join the army, no matter on which side, but with weapon and duty comes also responsibility. The wages in the army start at 15 per 15, so it is not a bad idea to just serve in the army for a while in order to build up money. As the recruits get gear, you can sign up right away with a new character. All you need to is apply on the correct factions sub-forum on http://www.t-k-o-s.info/forums/ and then meet an officer of the specific Force to hire you in game.
As there have been lots of complaints about incapable guards in the last months, you can be sure you will not be on duty for long if you are not able to learn a few basic rules and listen to orders (orders.... now I know why I decided to whore on the street instead of serving!)

Also necessary to mention, you can have up to five living characters all the time, so if you have a profitable idea on how to make money, that doesn't fit your main character that needs the money, you can simply make a new one designed to fulfill that role, and ask and admin to transfer your money once you think you have enough.

And last but not least: Your stuff is not temporary (as on other mods), you keep it forever, at least until your character dies (and in that case you still get your money and your equipment's worth transferred usually). So it is worth the effort saving up a month for some stuff, as you will keep it (the inventory bugs a lot, but admins refund items when they disappear  )

Are there also rules like powergaming/metagaming? I've got a history of heavy roleplay on SAMP and they used alot of rules, maybe some of them are also in effect here?

We have lots of rules which enhance the role play on our server. You can find them here: http://warband-rp.com/wiki/index.php/Extensive_Rule_List
