Dear Secession Users
I would like to make a simple request regarding the use of racist slurs in game. I simply ask for the display of professionalism among players of the mod as the use of racial slurs such as the N word are simply dis-respectful as well as ignorant in their use. I would urge the Secession gamer to remember while the mod is based on a time period riddled with racial tension, that we are no longer in that time period and such offensive slurs ruin the game for players like me. I love the idea of a civil war mod as long as everyone acts CIVIL within it. I am not asking for the involvement of mods or bans, simply I am requesting a show of decency among players of the game. . As a final notation I would like to say that the presence of racial slurs in any mod are off-putting, however their presence in a game focused on the civil war are simply inappropriate.
With all of this in mind I request that players display maturity regarding the issue.

If you're talking about "Runaway Slave", I've no problem with him myself. He's not been doing anything racist when I've seen him play.

I think we should leave the issue of slavery out of it entirely to avoid conflict.
It was one of the major issues that the South felt like its rights were being trampled on, but it was no the only one.

The war was over state's rights and how power should be divided up, it had been a longstanding issue ever since the Articles of the Confederation were nulled in favor of the US Constitution. (The Bills of Rights were the first amendments to it and it was penned to appease the Anti-Federalists which were forebearers to the Confederates)

In short, the war was about States Rights, and Preserving the Union.

Slavery was just one of the issues that moved things into motion, but since its such a sensitive subject we should just not mention it.

Not saying i run around the server shouting that at the top of my lungs, but...

Saying such a word is only disrespectful to those who are black. I come from and live in an area with a very high african american population (about 30-40%) and to be completely honest i hear them use it as a name for each other than anyone else. It has turned from a racial slur into somewhat of a calling card :/ I understand the feeling though. Still doesnt make it right, but I dont think that it should be counted as an insult as much as a private thing.
