still think it should be artillery, i think artillery regiments should get first shot at artillery on maps if they show up

yes, under the command however that does not mean that they themselves were cavalry

Thats why I said "for cav only" lol not that they were cav. I just thought it would even the odds a bit by only letting cav use it. Then they won't have to just scout and stuff. They could be more effective if they decide to stand and fight.

Whether or not its cav only or anyone can use it, Horse artillery would be cool.
True because now cav just moves to a spot dismounts start shooting probably get some kills but will lose more guys then killed because of less accuracy but when horse arty is in the game we can make a good stand like buford did

wow the michigan brigade ( wolverine brigade, the Cavalry ) stopped J.E.B stuart
so don't say they didn't do much

i never said that no one did much or didnt do much, i just said it wasnt the norm, cav were mainly for harassing supply lines or for scouting

If only there was a way to limit which maps the horse artillery could be used on. That way people could limit it to maps where it was actually used (gettysburg,fredericksburg, etc) or the bigger maps.

I hope we can play more different maps in future:

- Fort Stedman with canons
- Rebel Attack and Dried River with correct spawn points

an other good map is Harrison's Island, it has canons and correct spawn points!

I like more different maps, we only even play the same maps at linebattle.

And I prefer big maps with cannons!  :D

I stand corrected! After years of "Horseless Artillery" the Union pulled out a suprise they have been working on in my community of men.... For the first time, I have experienced the Horse Artillery on March 31st, and let me tell you folks, it really was a sight to be hold....... for the 20 minutes it took to watch them hook it up and skee-daddle with their cowering tail between their legs while my Company captured it....

Not an idea..... a REALITY! The horse artillery is a "Works on Paper" kind of deal.....

For Vic: The way they balanced it, Cavalry guards the gun crew and pieces for Horse Artillery, but are commanded by a Artillery commander (Or overall commander).

IF you guys are planning on going to add this I had an idea for that.

1. A new class called : Horse artillery he spawns with like 4 horses and a limber on that liber a cannon the 4 horses are attached to each other and then you still need 3 other guys taking the regular arty class and then mount up the other 3 free horses then you can move out like the right front horse is the speed and turning.

That was my idea for the horse arty

Or maybe the same with the mm mod... one horse with limber.... cause 4 its a little bit difficult.
