Mount and Blade has stopped working on start

I've googled and searched, and I haven't found a solution to my problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and ran in windowed mode. I've forced single-threading and run in directx7. I've also tried compatibility mode, and that hasnt worked. 

What do I do now? I've ran the old 1.1 demo months ago with no problems, and I downloaded the  newest .exe from taleworlds. Whats my course of action, guys? My serial is from amazon, I don't think that should be the problem.

The intro movie plays and then crashes, states "Mount and Blade has stopped working".

i had this problem and fixed it by turing off load textures on demand and single threading on.

Thank you!  In my case the single threading didn't matter, just turning off the textures on demand (although I have single-core so I'm using it, I just checked to test).

How do i change my textures because every time i get to the loading textures on load screen my M&B:Warband crashes and i have no clue how to mess with computer stuff im still trying to learn
