To me the Raven Spears are sort of like The Eventides and The Radiant Cross both in terms of skill and equipment. They use morning stars just like the other two so they are generally effective against other knights and surprisingly good in seiges as their short morningstars don't get in the way. They only have regular lances though which puts them at a disadvantage if having to charge at other knights and such. Their harnesses are good even in terms of knighthood equipment with their blue warhorses are fairly good tanks as well. Basically the way I see it, they are good but Eventides are just better than them IMO but you don't have to go through the whole process of increasing your relations by 40 to get them, just take over poinsburg.

I do know that lords have a set army size in terms of how many they will recruit themselves but I have never really known a lord not to be able to recruit more and get a lot bigger past that limit and seeing as I have found some bandit parties 1000+ I suppose they can get to any size

Currently, Ithlandir is around 1500 strong.  It's kinda funny to kite him into the center of the Empire's Cez Peninsula, just to watch the Snake Cult and lords freak out.

I can remember once kiting Zulkur and 2 other jatu armies into Aeldarian and a Noldor Ranger Company and then joining the jatu armies, letting them handle the noldor while I stayed back, taking the noldor captive after the battle, only to turn on the jatu who were severely weakened and destroying them

O_o ............... Respect.  I generally help the Noldor against the Jatu.  It's much more fun to watch Jatu die than Noldor, especially because the Jatu always hate you.  After all, nothing is funnier than watching a brave group of Jatu die by an arrow to their face.

okay thanks for that. I just asked becuase i was thinkin maybe i wanted to join their order. But then i ran across... A bug?? Maybe... For i went around to all the esablished knighthood orders to see if i could join em or whatever. Excluding the dawn and eventide i could join all the others without meeting any of the requirments!!! (not all at once just one) anymore i saved before i tried to see what would happen and it worked. For exemple i went to pointsbrook and spoke with the raven spear knight in the castle and asked him to join. He accepted and i beat the 3 knights in the fight. The thing is i do not own pointsbrook. Same thing happened with lady valkaries, empire immortals, and knights of lion! Is this supposed to be able to happen?

Bah, the knee barely kills!  The face, and my personal favorite, the elbow.  It's such a hard target, and it's so funny when the enemy dies from it.

You only need to meet the requirements if you plan on establishing their order and training your nobles into said knights. What you are doing is joining their ranks which just gives you their knighthood armour and some increased relations with the knighthood.

I don't know, I gotta confess that I see a faint resemblance to this mod and the ice and fire saga, I mean, big kingdom is ruled by the lions, knights ruling a distant icy noth, etc...

So yeah, that makes the jatu the DOTHRAKI, so whenever you get #$@$#% the #$@$ out by then, don't think of strategies, just say 'THANK YOU, KHAL!'

On a more serious note, I still didn't get the answer, is it possible to hire knights and other elite troops without founding their orders? And is it possible to found more than one knight order?

Only after you've founded an order can you start hiring (Noble Recruits). Then when these recruits have reached their best level, you can come back to the steward in the place that has the order built and pay again for taking these into the order and make them order knights (i.e. upgrade them to order knights).

More than one order can be built but only one per town/castle can exist.

That texture(undeadface_a.dds) should be located in your WB install. Path is for example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mount&Blade Warband\Textures

Lord reputation:
after battle - allow enemy lord to go free: +2
after battle - allow friendly lord to go free: +5

Is this unique to PoP?  when does the latter kick in? I've never experienced something like that, default was +4 in all mods I've played. Does this actually mean, that further reputation-gain is accelerated once reputation with a lord reached +20?

One more question to all hardcore players around here:

On what campaign-difficulty do you play? I'm curious because I just ran away from an empire lord with 225 men, 75 of them Immortals. I'm playing on good campaign-difficulty as usual, but I'm thinking about changing it to normal difficulty. See, my town of Laria is under constant attack - I cant leave for a day, the empire refreshes his army at incredible speed. I already gave up on letting every lord go after battle and started to imprison every one of them (so far 5 in my dungeon). Do you guys cope with these circumstances, or is this game developed with normal difficulty in mind?

Nope. Just keep doing the grind and hope you don't get depleted before they finally give up.

friendly lord just means setting free someone imprisoned by the people you just defeated.

I play on easy damage to me and allies, but hard for everything else, but yer, the game is meant to be very challenging.
