Mhhh...changing the order you follow could be interesting for towns in the holy land.
But after making an own kingdom I think you should need a high right to rule. Why else should a holy soldier follow a unholy bastard  :P Forming an own kingdom is an unholy act against the church and faith...

If you change the order from that you recruit you should get a huge relation decrease with every lord who represent your old order or with every one who recruit from this unitpool. I don't know how it's managed
And he should get a slightly increase on relation with the representatives of the new order.

Maybe a little reduction on relation with any order representative because you are a unreliable guy.
You also should have to wait one recruitment time to get the next lance...because you have to change clothes, watchwords and so on.
Because of your change in troop preferences a morale drop in your armies would be logical. (If neither god can trust in you, how a common soldier can trust you)

Because I'm not such a big historian I hope my ideas are not too unrealistic  :|

Or have it when you start your own kingdom and select religion you'll have a order representative from all or a few main orders or one rep to rep them all and select an order that way. But have the rep not available till you found a few crusades from the pope (which is already an option in game now) and honor/right to rule hits a selected amount..
And for owning your own christian kingdom, you should have to pay the pope big time before you can even pick kingdom name and all that. Basically before you can start your kingdom.

Unfortunatelly the only troop tree i have seen is the one in the beginning of the thread,
there have been done some changes but i think the whole system is quitte the same.

But i highly recommend you to give a chance to the lance system.

By the way welcome :)

I just wanted to be able to form a strong heavy cavalry army in my first game more easily - there is gonna be plenty of new features for me anyways. I'll try the lance system next time.

I'd like to update the troop trees of this awesome mod, just like the ones in the first page of this topic. My only problem is i don't know ho to get photos/images of the troops, like the in-game preview you can see in the party screen.
With troop tree generator or another editor is quite easy to know all the stats and upgrading paths, but with some pic it would be much better.

I'd really like to contribute somehow to this mod, even with such a little thing  :)

Does this mean when you use the native recruitment system that the mongols are just khergit with a name change?

No they should have all mongol equipment, armor and weapons.
Though you miss new game-balancing features, and all other
features. :)

I turned on the lance system because I figured that the new (realistic) troops were under the lance system only.

Are "cultural" troop trees still there if you play with the vanilla recruitment system? In .95 was quite put off by the fact that scotland/ireland just had generic english peasantry troops and no galloglaich or anything of that sort

I haven't played native recruitment in some time, but i remember that
templars had the same tree as lance.Meening ritterbruer's, hallbruder's etc.
But i remember that the scot's also had scotish troop trees, i remember that
because i had to train a lot of archers for the lords. But maybe the thing is
changed because it was something like revision .80.
The dr told that native won't be supported anymore so maybe that's why you
don't have scotish troops.

What kind of heresy is this?!

Scottish troops are available in the lance system. They are defined as village troop. However, lances recruit both town and village troops(does not matter where you recruit them) otherwise they would become somewhat disbalanced. The Scottish townsman are the same as every other European townsman. Perhaps your just unlucky and get the townsman all the time?

Native recruitment also recruit proper troops, just recruit them in a crappy old way. Tho with native recruitment might be some issues of recruiting the native population of say, finnish and estonians. I'm not sure now.

I generally use Lance Recruitment, this is just something I remember trying to play a member of the golden horde a while ago.
