Yes, it's from The Children of Húrin. It is Húrin when he is at, or going to, the Battle Of Unnumbered Tears.

At first I thought it was Eorl the Young going to Calenardhon at the call of Borondir.

Awesome clan. I remember Fyrningas from my past times, when I played vikingr like 6 months ago, You were always in top 3 clans on the server. Every warrior of Your kin is pro, really hard to kill, better to have You in Your own team :D

Cheers.

Hey man. I'll tell the big man to look into it when he gets on.

Dear Wulfstán,

Thank you for the kind words!

Dear Paddy,

I'm afraid we only consider people whom we already know from the battlefield. So if you would really like to join, be sure to become a familiar face on the server once it's back up.

Also, some friendly advice: if you want to improve your odds of joining a clan, try to have proper spelling and punctuation in your sentences and preferably write more than one sentence. Otherwise clans might doubt how interested you really are.

Best wishes to both of you,

Éadríc

Hail Brothers,

I'm back again. After visiting several places in Germany, Poland and Denmark during the last the two weeks I'm glad to see that Vikingr is alive again.
Several Places (just for those who are interested) including: Wolin (PL), Biskupin (PL), Menzlin-Viking-Gravefield (Ger), Ukranenland Slavic Village (Ger), Wikinger Museum Haithabu (Ger), Ribe and Jelling (DK) ... and all kinds of archaeological or historical museums and places between ;-)!

However, I'm back.

Good to see you back, brother. Your trip does not sound bad at all. So many interesting places! You must tell me about them when you are on the battlefield with me.

Forth Fyrningas!

LAND ÚRA YLDRENA
(Land of our ancestors)

*snip*

I am very disappointed. Very, very disappointed. It's such a cool map, such a cool introduction and such a cool clan but.. no.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westergoa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastergoa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Oostergo.jpg

/dramaqueen.

To clarify: part of the Frísland on the map didn't exist at that time. It was created by the people living in the area and by folks further south brought up to turn the sea into land and this creation started in the 16th century. It's something that generally escapes people's attention when they're making a "historical" map of the region.

And I seriously wouldn't be surprised either if the now zeeland part of your map (the loosely connected peninsulas in the south-west corner) looked dramatically different by then as well. And same goes for the holland parts as well. Lots of lakes, rivers and swamps and shit that were reclaimed from the 17th century onwards. :P

Carry on!

Thank you for pointing that out!

Though rest assured; we knew this already. But since the actual coastline of the time (roughly 400 AD, right before the move to Britain) would be hard to determine, we settled for the present coastline. At least we excluded the Flevopolder. Keep in mind that Denmark (like other areas) looked different too, back in the day, as it was dyked by Frisians.

Hah, okay, fair enough. I just felt like whining about it.  Looks really neat regardless. Which language is it in?

Well, it's always good to see people taking the effort to read our thread, so thanks!  :)

The language is of course Old English!
