- Is it possible to remap the walking key to something different? I play with arrow keys.

- Does the "special ability" key have any function?

- I read something about an overhead stab with spears, but when I took a guy with a spear in a custom battle I could only do a normal stab?

No sadly this is not possible.
- Does the "special ability" key have any function?
Only for the Berserkr, it is used for his Berserk Rage ability.
- I read something about an overhead stab with spears, but when I took a guy with a spear in a custom battle I could only do a normal stab?
You need to go into alternative mode. And only the shorter spears can be used with an overhead stab and shield. The other ones need to be used two-handed for an overhead stab.

Napoleonic Wars uses the left shift walk key as a toggle, which solves basically all problems with the walk function (I'm left-handed so I use the arrow keys too). Maybe that can be ported to other mods (I don't think it'd be very useful in Víkingr, as things stand now, but maybe the devs can come up with creative uses of this feature :3).

  • Throwing weapons are the opposite of 'hilariously useless'!
  • Archery goes as far as to require skill.
  • One cannot couch lances.
  • This being a western medieval simulation and not Samurai Wars, one cannot jump and slash.
  • Very untrue.
  • Randomized accuracey just breeds skill.
  • There are no lances in vikingr.
  • Having your attack and block diturbed when you fall of the smallest of scene props is just a joy, give me "Samurai Wars". Jumpslashes don't fit vikingr atall but this is realy annoying.

Vikingr players hating on native just pisses me off, sorry.

Native is not realistic in comparrison to vikingr.
Native is very skill based and the only mod with a real competative scene.

*More damage of throwing weapons and mostly tuniced enemies = very useful;
*Randomised accuracy and less arrows means you cant spam and snime on supa-long distances, but have to think first;
*Yes, thats the same meaning;
*You can block while jumping in vikingr and blocks/attacks are disturbed not by falling but by landing on the ground, same happens in native.

Vikingr players hating on native liking vikingr features and enjoying it more than native. No one says vikingr players are true high master race and you all are dirty peasants playing stupid native.

P.S.: you sound as silly as anyone hating on native.

OP suggest they are useless in native, which they are not. I do not dispute their power in vikingr.
You're block is only disturbed in native when you take fall damage.

I enjoy vikingr, I enjoy native more but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy and play vikingr.

Neither is better they are different and people play them for different reasons.
