The version I have (which is nearly two years old) has all the weapons, helmets and skins ready. It just needs about 2 days work to add the new units to 9 or 10 of the remaining factions. I can't understand why it hasn't been released to be honest.

Cheers

Just 2 days work huh? That's being very disengenuous at best.

Considering that the early template you have is not inclusive of the new content developed since then, include amongst which are the new scene props make, and those in developement for the scene.

And it would be nice if the scenes automatically made AI meshes, but unfortunately thats not the case. Which even in the template you have, AI meshes have not been completed for the old scenes.

Nor have in such scenes, have most of the castle/town scenes been completely fleshed out in that the city service scenes, i.e. walking around and shopping in town etc. need to be transferred and converted from the siege scenes.

Disregarding that, there's still the fact that the scenes have been and are to be rebuilt in good order with the new props. i.e. Gergovia http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,145369.0.html

Thats all before even considering the coding required to flesh out the flaws of the alpha mod you have, let alone the tweaking and polishing of the work done since.

If it takes 2 years to build some scenes and the task is still not complete then the mod's scope and aims are unfeasible.

As it is, alpha or not, it's a lot fun, quite pretty, fairly polished and it feels quite balanced. Some basic finishing would take a couple of days and polishing could come later.

There's really no point leaving great content to rot on hard drives. If there is no longer interest or time to complete it, then it's time to let the community work on it. Settlements can come later.

If it takes 2 years to build some scenes and the task is still not complete then either the mod's scope and aims are unfeasible or it simply isn't being worked on.

It's more than scenes, as i've quite clearly pointed out.

As it is, alpha or not, it's a lot fun, quite pretty, fairly polished and it feels quite balanced. Some basic finishing would take a couple of days and polishing could come later.

No, it takes well more than that. I cannot release a mod which has unfinished AI meshes for scenes, no soldiers for factions, nor with incomplete scripting, which has red text floating about on account of missing global variables, or missing references.

Perhaps we have different perspectives on the definition of 'polished'.

There's really no point leaving great content to rot on hard drives. If there is no longer interest or time to complete it, then it's time to let the community work on it. Settlements can come later.

You going to make such a pronouncement to for example, to the EB2 team, or perhaps here the TLD team?

Both of which have more active contributors, certainly EB2 which has well more, and all of them to take considerable time. A total conversion is not a drop in the bucket. And we do this on our free time, not getting paid to do so in the process.

And if there should be any concessions required, i'm quite well on making a concious decision myself.

He told you,he's making it when he has free time, not getting paid like Activision or something...when he finishes his mod,he will get a MOD DB reward of mod of the year.Believe me.
And don't speak with him like this, lets see if you can make the huge modification like this all by yourself!

Btw i'm not messing around, just wanted to tell though.

EDIT:If you really want to play Hegemony, then we need to assemble the team for ealabor,he cannot do all progress alone, look the mod called Crusader-Way to Expiation,it has many members doing 3D art, scenes etc.He needs to have a big team for a big mod like this.

And i support him... ;)
Here's the video of that cool mod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDdkul26PMg

Alright, I think i've heard enough your accusations and slander at this point.

It's obvious that for some reason you are here to stir up trouble, considering I haven't heard from you in the longest, and your first move was not to contact me via PM, or on MSN but to just make an outright pronouncement. Which is not suprising, considering last time you threatened to "take your work back" because I didn't make the Dacian troop tree to your specifications.

If you like, we can continue this further in PM, or you can message me on MSN.

He didn't make this mod all by himself. It's a collaboration by many many people who have worked on it for years. Hegemony is based on Legions extended.

I made several hundred skins and shields for this mod.  http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j278/donlogan/hegemony/armours_small.jpg Many other people contributed to the latest version and ultimately it was a waste of our time because clearly he has no intention of releasing it.

What do I know about making Total conversion mods?  Well I made one for M2TW http://forkingorcountry.com/ and I co-authored one called 'Broken Crescent' for M2TW. I have plenty of experience in this area.

Cheers

Well,i haven't got anything to say now...

If,not just you,but many other people, including me of course, want this mod released, then we need a team. He's now without a team.I see that you helped him a lot with Hegemony and other people, but in order for it to be released,we need a team.I would help him every day.But i have no experience. Also i have tons of free time, and the school is ended(holiday). It will last 3 whole months...imagine what can man do for that time.I am sure that the word is MUCH.And i would eagerly help him,but with no experience,i can't do anything.
Please help me,where can i learn do to skins, armours or anything which could help ealabor with finishing and finally releasing  this great, best mod for all of us who were waiting and waiting...

As i remember before,in 2007/2008 the first Legions Extended and Hegemony 268.B.C. for 0.960. version were released very fast.Dunno what's happening with him now,he has a huge opportunity for getting MOD OF THE YEAR AWARD.

My aim is not to cause trouble,  it is to ensure that the body of work I put a lot of effort into is not just wasted and left on hard drives until they finally crash and it's gone forever. My words are brash and hopefully they whip up a productive response. There's no point talking to you on MSN because clearly you don't feel there's anything 'wrong' with the way development has been going nor are you willing to compromise and allow others to develop the mod.

What I really don't understand is how hard can it be to simply modify a few skins and add a few maps?

look what you did, alphadelta, making ealabor all mad like this

even though this mod is taking forever, its a work of hobby and personal interest. it's pretty shitty of you to demand the mod's release in its present state, especially like this. ealabor is obviously checking this board daily, so he must be doing at least some work on the mod regularly. your precious skins won't disappear into thin air. after all, you still have them on your own hard drive.

so what's the rush? same question to everyone else constantly complaining about the status of the mod. can you not just wait? i've been waiting the whole time since the last release as well (in fact, i came here today, as i do every couple of months, to see if its released).
