How can I get a mercenary contract for Sweden. I've asked every lord I've met but no luck. Is there a reknown limit or something?

So, I'm currently a mercenary for the Cossack Hetmanate, and i've been trying to become a vassal for about a week now with no luck.

I have about 700 renown, and +60 relation with them, and yet there seems to be no way to request an upgrade, or even to quit being their mercenary so I can re-join or go to another faction.


How do I get promoted/quit to rejoin?

Im doing a quest for a Cossack lord dude who told me to take a Turkish spy, called Turk, to Sich. I went to Sich and they told me to go to Attaman. Thing is, I dont know who or where that is. Anyone have any clue? Also I think im using the War Getting Worse mod.

The "Ataman" or "Attaman" or whatever is the noble who currently owns Sich. It's a title that is never really explained or defined anywhere, and isn't used at all outside of quest related text, which makes me wonder if it's not actually an untranslated word.

Have you started the Black Mace quests?  Because if you have, I believe you will need to finish that storyline before you can become a vassal.  Continue as their merc, because I think you'll need to use their troops at some point and if you give up your merc contract, you won't have access to Cossack troops.

It is so easy to get sucked into taking this quest and it really screws you up as far as becoming a Cossack vassal.  That this (among many other things) hasn't been addressed by the devs is one of the reasons why I've given up playing WFaS for awhile.

It's a PITA, but try to avoid speaking to Cossack vassals in the field.  If you refuse that quest, you lose 20 rep with the Cossacks, putting you at war with the faction.

Or, even better, be a merc for some other faction to build up your renown and then ask the Cossacks to become a vassal and worry about building rep with your fellow vassals afterward.

I have a problem . I bought the game M&B:With Fire and Sword in a normal game shop in Poland. When I want to register the game with the serial key it just does not fit there so I cant get any updates for it which means i cant play multiplayer pls help.

Does the version you purchased not include a "Multiplayer" button on the main menu in the game? If there is no button when you get in game, you purchased the original version of this game, made by SiCh without Taleworlds collaboration and it is based on the original M&B game that does not include multiplayer. You'll need to go to SiCh and see if they provide an update from that original version to the current (third) version of WFaS.

warband had chests in cities i could store my loot in, like the Masterwork Sabre i got as loot from a battle against the muscovites.  i dont want to use it or carry it around at the moment, and took Pskov hoping i could store it there.  5 chests but no interact button.

do i need to take a different city, or are there no chests to keep my loot?

Hrm. Two possibilities then: 1) you still need to be in contact with SiCh as you bought the 2nd version of this game (after it was ported to Warband), but not the current international version in order to get a patch and/or a different key (does the version you have only have Polish/Russian and no English? If so, you don't have the current international release and I think you need to be in touch with SiCh to patch up to it); or 2) you have a Steam activation code and you'll need to go through the Steam system to get a working CD-key (I don't think this is the case).

Most likely you are in the first situation with the Polish, pre-international release. And to my knowledge, only SiCh can help there.

There is at least one town with a chest in the Lord's Hall.  Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head... I want to say that its in the Cossack region near Vilna.

There is at least one town with a chest in the Lord's Hall.  Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head... I want to say that its in the Cossack region near Vilna.
