hi osamath. First thing you should know is that the game is rather stable atm, so its very playable. 3.0 is the latest version indeed tough i suspect a new one coming out soon.

There will be patches quite often but if you want to keep your savegame just don't patch, computica tries to make every patch as stable as possible.

Yes you can use cheats tough i don't encourage it.

Yes you can make your own faction if you want.

Its a LOT bigger than the normal map and there are more than double the amount of normal factions.

You will not lose your original warband files if you instal this mod. If you check your folders you will find under warband/modules a folder called native. This mod will create a folder there called sod warlords if installed properly.

I hope all is clear to you now?

Tis' sad though. There won't be much compared to other mods compared to this one. Don't expect too much from other mods. This one aims to be unique.

The historical mods, although they all have problems with complexity, do provide some interesting perspective on the regions where modders are REALLY, REALLY interested in.  There are problems in the game balance in the areas where the modders are REALLY, REALLY interested though.  For instance, rebel groups in some mods are REALLY, REALLY powerful, particularly in the areas that the modders come from.  Baltic pagans, for instance, chill the blood at the mention of their name in the 1257AD mod.  Since there is NO economy associated with bandit creation, this is problematic.
