[IDEA] Starting a mini-faction

(1/3) > >>

Lokuul:
Nordous has said stuff about mini-factions, as I am sure you have heard, and I was wanting to make that clear, and put in some ideas on the "Types" of factions.

Mercenary Faction: Hire men to go on contracts, help wage wars for factions, get money.
Bandit Faction: Hire men and raid caravans and villages, get money and goods
Assassin Faction: Hire men to go on contracts, knock out key figures, get money
Thief Faction: Hire men to rob nobles, get money and items, more subtle than bandit
Pirate Faction (?): Hire men and buy ships to raid the seas and coastal villages, help siege coastal towns, get money and loot
Merchants Faction/Guild: Buy caravans to buy and sell goods, buy out towns, get money and goods
Knight Brotherhood: Bring in men to help wage war, get honour and money.

You could implement this through the outpost feature or through placing certain places on map, like gathering spots. Maybe be able to be Faction Leader of all of these.

With regards,
Comrade Lokuul

All very great ideas, I'd like to see

Hunter Guilds,
Forestry Guilds,
Mining Guilds,
All these guilds would give you quests to gather items, but they would mainly gather and sell furs and meat, wood and iron.

Hospital Guilds, they would heal your mean, and buy herbs from the local markets or from you at a knock down price with the option to heal your men.

What would be nice, is to be able to join all of these guilds

EDIT: The only one I don't like is the pirate faction, unless you make it that you don't actually get on ships and what not, because shipping in game is not that great imo from what I have seen

No, you don't get on ships. You send out ships to raid, pillage, and plunder.

Comrade, once I get into the factions/quests business, tons of factions/quests and so on will veryvery probably make it into rigale.

Doh, I thought that's what the actual town guilds were actually doing  :?:, with even more options...
Although the one option lacking might be the "get stuff" part of it, like tools, or guild specialty items (wood, iron, venison...)

This hospital idea sounds really good, but I think wounded men, in this case, needs more to be a real issue, more than it is now.
