[Idea]Perks, traits and flaws

If your doing skills, why not make those into selectable traits in the beginning. I dunno if it's possible. but it could work. They could have a positive and negative effect for each. For example, a Drunkard perk would give you increased strength and Iron flesh, but take away your Intellect and persuasion, or a Scholarly perk would do the exact opposite, but increase you engineering and decrease you Power Strike. If it is moddable into Rigale, it would be AWESOME, and it could go along with Heirlooms! As in, you get an heirloom and a perk. You can choose Two or Three perks to go along with your journey (I.E Fallout 2) or choose a Trait and a Flaw, or whatever you choose. Tell me what you think!

Great. Thats what I think in one word. This will definitely make it to rigale, sooner than later.
My concern is that there can be a lot of them, with itsy bitsy nuances.
So I am eagerly awaiting any proposals here, but general tweaks. Keep in mind that adding anything costs RL time...

I can add here that the Arcanum (old RPG) had a good system of traits and flaws with background-bound explanations. Someone can investigate that.

I don't know how possible/impossible this would be, but traits that could be earned rather than only picked would be cool too. For example; Sturdy-"Take 1000/2500/5000 damage over your entire career without being knocked out. +10/25/50 health or slow Regen. Note- if you were knocked out, you don't lose the trait, just lose the ability to get the next level of it or maybe the counter just resets so you aren't doomed.
Merciful-"Your reluctance to take a human life is admirable. Knock out 100/250/so on enemies rather than kill them. Maybe +10/25 Prisoner Capacity or instant boost to Honor?
These are just a few quick ideas. I always think it's fun when a game awards me for playing differently than others/challenging myself, so I thought that these could be really fun. Again, I don't know if anything like this is even possible, but I thought they might be cool.

Here we go with some freaking cool stuff here. Actually, I saw some constants and functions that seemed to be dealing with stuffs like that, and the steam achievment system reminds me of this feature as well. I might have a look, because this feature is great. I started to implement a raise by doing skill system, but these earned traits are great. Anyways, it might indeed be quite hard to implement, I frankly have no idea about this.
